{"id":52745,"date":"2015-02-19T13:27:58","date_gmt":"2015-02-19T18:27:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.farmchemicalsinternational.com\/?p=52745"},"modified":"2015-02-19T13:27:58","modified_gmt":"2015-02-19T18:27:58","slug":"how-kochia-became-resistant-to-glyphosate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.agribusinessglobal.com\/pt\/agrochemicals\/how-kochia-became-resistant-to-glyphosate\/","title":{"rendered":"Como Kochia se tornou resistente ao glifosato"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry\">\n<p>Um estudo recente realizado por um cientista especializado em ervas daninhas da Universidade Estadual do Kansas descobriu por que a erva invasora kochia \u00e9 como uma barata do mundo vegetal.<\/p>\n<p>De acordo com o Kansas State, Mithila Jugulam, professora assistente de agronomia, liderou um estudo que analisou como a kochia \u2014 popula\u00e7\u00f5es invasoras de ervas daninhas que est\u00e3o tomando conta de planta\u00e7\u00f5es e \u00e1reas n\u00e3o cultivadas no oeste do Kansas e nas Grandes Plan\u00edcies \u2014 desenvolveu resist\u00eancia ao glifosato. Os pesquisadores descobriram que a kochia evoluiu para ter m\u00faltiplas c\u00f3pias de um c\u00f3digo gen\u00e9tico que tem como alvo o glifosato. Essas c\u00f3pias permitem que as plantas sobrevivam \u00e0 taxa de campo das aplica\u00e7\u00f5es de glifosato.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u00c9 um mecanismo de resist\u00eancia muito novo e est\u00e1 se tornando predominante em diversas ervas daninhas resistentes ao glifosato, incluindo o amaranto peregrino, a erva-d&#039;\u00e1gua comum e a kochia\u201d, disse Jugulam.<\/p>\n<p>Jugulam conduziu o estudo em colabora\u00e7\u00e3o com Bikram Gill, professor de patologia vegetal da Universidade Estadual do Kansas.<\/p>\n<p>O di\u00e1rio <i>Fisiologia Vegetal<\/i> publicaram recentemente seu estudo, \u201cAmplifica\u00e7\u00e3o em tandem de um segmento cromoss\u00f4mico que abriga o locus 5-enolpiruvilshikimato-3-fosfato sintase confere resist\u00eancia ao glifosato em <i>Kochia scoparia<\/i>.\u201d \u00c9 o primeiro estudo a encontrar uma base citogen\u00e9tica molecular para a amplifica\u00e7\u00e3o do gene EPSPS em kochia.<\/p>\n<p>O glifosato funciona interrompendo uma enzima chamada EPSPS que \u00e9 crucial para a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de amino\u00e1cidos arom\u00e1ticos na via do \u00e1cido chiqu\u00edmico. Se o EPSPS for interrompido, a planta eventualmente morre.<\/p>\n<p>Usando uma t\u00e9cnica inovadora chamada fluoresc\u00eancia <i>no local<\/i> hibridiza\u00e7\u00e3o, ou Fiber FISH, no fragmento de DNA de kochia, a equipe descobriu que a kochia resistente ao glifosato havia duplicado v\u00e1rias c\u00f3pias de EPSPS que se empilhavam uma ao lado da outra em um \u00fanico cromossomo.<\/p>\n<p>Os pesquisadores tamb\u00e9m descobriram que quanto mais c\u00f3pias de EPSPS kochia tinham, maior era a toler\u00e2ncia contra o glifosato. Por exemplo, plantas de kochia com nove a 12 c\u00f3pias de EPSPS poderiam sobreviver ao dobro da quantidade recomendada de glifosato, enquanto uma planta com 16 c\u00f3pias poderia suportar seis vezes a quantidade.<\/p>\n<p>Embora o aumento nas c\u00f3pias do gene EPSPS tenha criado uma forma n\u00e3o sustent\u00e1vel de controlar a kochia com programas que utilizam apenas glifosato, Jugulam disse que essa resist\u00eancia evoluiu como resultado do uso cont\u00ednuo de glifosato e da falta de diversidade de herbicidas no controle dessa erva daninha.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHerbicidas n\u00e3o s\u00e3o conhecidos por causar muta\u00e7\u00f5es em plantas\u201d, disse Jugulam em uma declara\u00e7\u00e3o. \u201cOs indiv\u00edduos resistentes presentes na popula\u00e7\u00e3o inicialmente est\u00e3o em n\u00edveis baixos e lentamente dominam as plantas suscet\u00edveis se a sele\u00e7\u00e3o com o mesmo herbicida continuar.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Atualmente, Jugulam e colegas est\u00e3o observando kochia de todos os EUA e Canad\u00e1 para descobrir se plantas de outras \u00e1reas do mundo evolu\u00edram da mesma forma.
