{"id":52838,"date":"2015-03-03T10:47:02","date_gmt":"2015-03-03T15:47:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.farmchemicalsinternational.com\/?p=52838"},"modified":"2021-06-14T15:35:18","modified_gmt":"2021-06-14T19:35:18","slug":"key-crops-stand-to-benefit-from-discovery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.agribusinessglobal.com\/pt\/agrochemicals\/key-crops-stand-to-benefit-from-discovery\/","title":{"rendered":"Culturas-chave devem se beneficiar da descoberta"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry\">\n<p>Cientistas australianos descobriram uma maneira de melhorar a produ\u00e7\u00e3o da enzima Rubisco, essencial para o crescimento das plantas, e culturas importantes podem se beneficiar.<\/p>\n<p>A descoberta promove os esfor\u00e7os para melhorar a seguran\u00e7a alimentar global que visam aumentar a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de culturas b\u00e1sicas essenciais, como trigo, algod\u00e3o e arroz, de acordo com <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eurekalert.org\/pub_releases\/2015-03\/anu-spo030215.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Universidade Nacional Australiana<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA enzima Rubisco tem confundido os cientistas por mais de 50 anos, pois \u00e9 milhares de vezes menos eficiente em seu trabalho do que a maioria das outras enzimas\u201d, disse o Dr. Spencer Whitney da Universidade Nacional Australiana (ANU), que foi l\u00edder da equipe de pesquisa do Centro de Excel\u00eancia em Fotoss\u00edntese Translacional do Conselho de Pesquisa Australiano (ARC), que financiou o estudo junto com o projeto Realizing Increased Photosynthetic Efficiency (RIPE).<\/p>\n<p>Grande parte da confus\u00e3o decorre da estrutura altamente complexa da Rubisco. \u00c9 uma enzima com 16 pe\u00e7as que requer a assist\u00eancia de mais de 12 outras prote\u00ednas para mont\u00e1-la corretamente<\/p>\n<p>\u201cN\u00f3s focamos em uma das prote\u00ednas parceiras da Rubisco, chamada RAF1. Ao fornecer \u00e0 Rubisco sua parceira RAF1, descobrimos que a quantidade de Rubisco produzida nas folhas poderia ser mais que dobrada\u201d, disse ele.<\/p>\n<p>Rubisco \u00e9 a prote\u00edna mais abundante do planeta. Ela tamb\u00e9m tem uma das responsabilidades mais significativas na vida na Terra: a convers\u00e3o de di\u00f3xido de carbono em compostos org\u00e2nicos \u2013 os blocos de constru\u00e7\u00e3o de todas as c\u00e9lulas vegetais e animais.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEntender a parceria com a RAF1 tem implica\u00e7\u00f5es importantes com rela\u00e7\u00e3o aos esfor\u00e7os cont\u00ednuos para acelerar a atividade lenta da Rubisco \u2013 uma meta fundamental para melhorar a produtividade das colheitas\u201d, disse o Dr. Whitney. \u201cEm um mundo com crescentes demandas por alimentos, este \u00e9 um marco para aumentar a taxa fotossint\u00e9tica em plantas cultivadas que dependem fortemente da Rubisco.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>O estudo, feito em colabora\u00e7\u00e3o com a Universidade de Wollongong e publicado no \u00faltimo <i>PNAS<\/i> journal, mostra que Rubisco e RAF1 evolu\u00edram juntos.
