A descoberta marca a primeira identifica\u00e7\u00e3o de receptores vaniloides, os canais i\u00f4nicos TRPV (transient receptor potential vanilloid), como alvos de inseticidas. Os resultados, publicados no peri\u00f3dico cient\u00edfico <em>Neur\u00f4nio<\/em> em 6 de maio de 2015, poderia ajudar a controlar melhor a resist\u00eancia aos inseticidas e ter implica\u00e7\u00f5es para a pesquisa e o uso de inseticidas.<\/p>\n<p>Em seu estudo, os cientistas se concentraram no modo de a\u00e7\u00e3o dos inseticidas pimetrozina e pirifluquinazona. Eles identificaram um novo complexo de canal i\u00f4nico TRPV como a prote\u00edna alvo das duas subst\u00e2ncias. Em insetos, existem dois canais TRPV, que ocorrem juntos em certos receptores de estiramento que est\u00e3o presentes nas articula\u00e7\u00f5es, por exemplo, nas antenas e pernas. Ao detectar est\u00edmulos mec\u00e2nicos, esses receptores de estiramento fornecem aos insetos seus sentidos de equil\u00edbrio, audi\u00e7\u00e3o e coordena\u00e7\u00e3o. Os dois inseticidas s\u00f3 agem seletivamente nesses receptores de estiramento porque ativam um complexo de canal i\u00f4nico formado pelos dois canais TRPV.
