Enquanto isso, pesquisadores estavam desenvolvendo produtos mais suaves que poderiam ser usados em conjunto com insetos ben\u00e9ficos para controlar os \u00e1caros.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLevou cerca de 10 anos para termos benef\u00edcios suficientes, al\u00e9m dos produtos de MIP, para um programa completo\u201d, disse Mostert.<\/p>\n<p>Os produtores tamb\u00e9m precisaram de tempo para se sentirem confort\u00e1veis com a ideia de que, diferentemente dos produtos de amplo espectro, os produtos de MIP n\u00e3o matariam todos os \u00e1caros. Embora os produtores encontrassem pontos quentes de \u00e1caros em suas estufas, os \u00e1caros predadores tamb\u00e9m sobreviveram ao tratamento mais suave e estavam prontos para se banquetear com o<br \/>\n\u00e1caros.<\/p>\n<h4>2. Pense a longo prazo<\/h4>\n<p>Compostos qu\u00edmicos deram aos fazendeiros uma habilidade just-in-time para tratar problemas de pragas. Biopesticidas n\u00e3o oferecem esse luxo, especialmente no controle de doen\u00e7as.<br \/>\nO Bacillus, por exemplo, pode ser usado para controlar o Fusarium tanto em culturas hort\u00edcolas quanto de campo, mas deve ser aplicado ao solo ou usado como tratamento de sementes para permitir que os esporos colonizem antes que as plantas comecem a murchar.<\/p>\n<p>Outro exemplo \u00e9 o Coniothyrium mintans, que atua como um parasita nas estruturas de repouso duras do escler\u00f3dio (o pat\u00f3geno que causa o mofo branco) no solo. Estudos mostraram que o Coniothyrium mintans destruir\u00e1 at\u00e9 95% do escler\u00f3dio em uma camada do solo, mas leva de dois a tr\u00eas meses para atingir esse n\u00edvel de controle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEssa \u00e9 a \u00fanica coisa que um fazendeiro sempre quer: se eu aplicar, deve funcionar\u201d, disse Ketan Mehta, fundador da Ecosense Labs na \u00cdndia. \u201cEles est\u00e3o t\u00e3o acostumados a trabalhar com produtos qu\u00edmicos que querem resultados instant\u00e2neos. Isso \u00e9 algo que os micr\u00f3bios n\u00e3o fornecem.\u201d<\/p>\n<h4>3. Siga as instru\u00e7\u00f5es<\/h4>\n<p>A diretiva frequentemente repetida de ler e seguir as instru\u00e7\u00f5es do r\u00f3tulo \u00e9 t\u00e3o importante para biopesticidas quanto para produtos convencionais. Temperatura e umidade s\u00e3o fatores cr\u00edticos ao armazenar e aplicar biopesticidas porque muitos s\u00e3o derivados de organismos vivos. Fornecer nutri\u00e7\u00e3o ou um per\u00edodo de aclimata\u00e7\u00e3o pode melhorar o controle ao liberar insetos biol\u00f3gicos ou micr\u00f3bios, por exemplo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cN\u00e3o estamos olhando para apenas mais um produto que voc\u00ea coloca e espera que funcione\u201d, disse Mostert. \u201cVoc\u00ea precisa introduzi-lo na hora ou dia certo ou com as condi\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas certas. \u00c9 uma mudan\u00e7a de mentalidade para o produtor pensar em biopesticidas como um organismo vivo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mas essas restri\u00e7\u00f5es tamb\u00e9m podem fazer com que o uso de biopesticidas pare\u00e7a mais trabalhoso do que vale a pena, especialmente quando os agricultores come\u00e7am a considerar que o microclima ao longo da crista arenosa de um campo n\u00e3o \u00e9 o mesmo que a borda nem o canto \u00famido. Sua empresa treina tanto os funcion\u00e1rios quanto os varejistas que vendem seus produtos para ajudar a responder a essas perguntas b\u00e1sicas.<\/p>\n<p>Um dos maiores desafios enfrentados pelos biopesticidas para culturas de campo s\u00e3o as baixas barreiras de entrada no mercado. Manuseie com cuidado<\/h4>\n<p>Embora os biopesticidas precisem ser manuseados com cuidado, a maioria n\u00e3o \u00e9 t\u00e3o fr\u00e1gil quanto as pessoas pensam ou como era h\u00e1 30 anos.<br \/>\n\u201cA maioria dos biopesticidas \u00e9 robusta e pode ser misturada em tanques\u201d, disse Marrone. Ela aponta os esporos de Bacillus como exemplo. \u201cO Bacillus \u00e9 bem resistente.\u201d<\/p>\n<h4>6. Seja um crente<\/h4>\n<p>Preocupa\u00e7\u00f5es do consumidor com res\u00edduos em produtos e mandatos para melhorar a seguran\u00e7a do trabalhador ajudaram a alimentar o interesse inicial dos produtores hort\u00edcolas em usar pesticidas mais suaves.
