Os produtores geralmente preferem tratamentos de sementes com fungicidas combinados a fungicidas foliares, disse Custis. &quot;O uso de tratamentos de sementes apenas tocou a ponta do iceberg nos Estados Unidos, Sudeste Asi\u00e1tico, \u00c1frica do Sul e Am\u00e9rica do Sul central&quot;, acrescentou.<\/p>\n<p>A ABM possui direitos de propriedade mundial sobre quatro cepas de <em>Tricoderma<\/em> fungos, que colonizam ra\u00edzes de plantas. Duas das cepas da ABM s\u00e3o espec\u00edficas para milho e duas s\u00e3o espec\u00edficas para gr\u00e3os de cereais. <em>Tricoderma<\/em> alimentam-se dos a\u00e7\u00facares da planta e ent\u00e3o exalam enzimas que a planta pode usar. Isso ajuda a produzir um sistema radicular maior, o que ajuda a aumentar a absor\u00e7\u00e3o de nitrog\u00eanio, bem como a resist\u00eancia a doen\u00e7as, disse Custis.<\/p>\n<p>Os produtos da ABM, como SabrEx para milho, algod\u00e3o e trigo, est\u00e3o na lista de produtos do Organic Materials Review Institute. Fora dos Estados Unidos, isso geralmente tem mais peso com os produtores do que o registro da EPA, disse Custis.<\/p>\n<p>Palle Pedersen, chefe de marketing de produtos de tratamento de sementes na Syngenta, n\u00e3o acha que os biol\u00f3gicos necessariamente superar\u00e3o os tratamentos qu\u00edmicos de sementes; em vez disso, eles ser\u00e3o usados como suplementos para produtos qu\u00edmicos. Entre elas, a americana AgraQuest, a alem\u00e3 Prophyta e a argentina Biagro Group, esta \u00faltima focada em inoculantes.<\/p>\n<p>Ginisty, da Bayer, acrescentou que o Poncho\/Votivo da empresa, com componentes qu\u00edmicos e biol\u00f3gicos, \u00e9 usado em milh\u00f5es de acres de milho nos Estados Unidos. Tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 usado em soja e algod\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVemos os biol\u00f3gicos de cultivo como parte de uma abordagem de gerenciamento integrado para controlar pragas\u201d, disse Frank DeGennaro, diretor da DuPont Biologicals. V\u00e1rios produtos de sementes de milho e soja da Pioneer vendidos na Am\u00e9rica do Norte s\u00e3o tratados com tratamentos biol\u00f3gicos de sementes para contribuir para melhorar o suporte, o vigor da planta e o rendimento, disse ele.<\/p>\n<p>Um novo empreendimento de neg\u00f3cios cruzados da DuPont, a DuPont Biologicals desenvolver\u00e1 e comercializar\u00e1 produtos biol\u00f3gicos para aplica\u00e7\u00f5es de sementes, solo e foliares em grandes culturas em linha, frutas e vegetais ao redor do mundo. \u201cEssas novas ofertas continuar\u00e3o a complementar e aprimorar nossa tecnologia em gen\u00e9tica, tratamento de sementes e prote\u00e7\u00e3o de culturas\u201d, disse DeGennaro.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Controle de insetos e nemat\u00f3ides<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cEsperamos um crescimento de dois d\u00edgitos globalmente em produtos de tratamento de sementes projetados para ajudar a reduzir perdas devido a danos por insetos e nematoides\u201d, disse Treurniet, da DuPont. \u201cJ\u00e1 vimos um crescimento de dois d\u00edgitos em tratamentos de sementes, em grande parte devido ao aumento da demanda dos produtores. O plantio de sementes tratadas protege o potencial gen\u00e9tico da semente, e as aplica\u00e7\u00f5es foram aprimoradas para aumentar o fluxo de sementes por meio de sistemas de manuseio e plantio.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Com tecnologias emergentes, como diamidas antran\u00edlicas, a DuPont espera que o crescimento em tratamentos de sementes com inseticidas\/nematicidas supere os tratamentos de sementes com fungicidas, mesmo com a retra\u00e7\u00e3o dos neonicotinoides em alguns mercados, disse Alex Cochran, diretor de pesquisa da DuPont Seed Treatment Enterprise. As diamidas antran\u00edlicas fornecem um modo de a\u00e7\u00e3o exclusivo para controlar <em>Lepid\u00f3ptero<\/em> insetos. O modo alternativo de a\u00e7\u00e3o os torna valiosos na preven\u00e7\u00e3o da resist\u00eancia a inseticidas e na prote\u00e7\u00e3o contra pragas anteriormente descontroladas, como <em>Helicoverpa<\/em>, disse Cochran.<\/p>\n<p>No ano passado, no Brasil, o tratamento de sementes Dermacor da DuPont obteve registro emergencial para controle de <em>Helicoverpa<\/em> <em>esp\u00e9cies<\/em>. em soja. Desde 2008, seu tratamento de sementes Dermacor X-100 para arroz tem sido usado na \u00c1sia para controlar o gorgulho-d&#039;\u00e1gua-do-arroz e brocas-do-colmo-de-final-de-esta\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEstamos vendo mais crescimento para tratamentos de sementes nematicidas nos EUA, \u00e0 medida que os produtores se tornam mais conscientes de que \u00e9 uma boa adi\u00e7\u00e3o aos programas de gerenciamento de resist\u00eancia em soja, milho e algod\u00e3o. Continuaremos a ver crescimento neste mercado por v\u00e1rios anos\u201d, disse Ginisty, da Bayer.<\/p>\n<p>Produtores em todo o mundo est\u00e3o vendo uma resposta consistente de rendimento com tratamentos de sementes com inseticidas e nematicidas em vez de fungicidas sozinhos, e ent\u00e3o frequentemente adotam tratamentos de sementes com inseticidas-nematicidas-fungicidas, disse Pedersen da Syngenta.
