Se eles insistem em rendimentos limpos sem res\u00edduos, o controle biol\u00f3gico \u00e9 uma escolha f\u00e1cil para os produtores.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Melhorando o jogo<\/strong><br \/>\nRamon Georgis, diretor de neg\u00f3cios internacionais da Brandt \u2014 que ele considera a maior empresa dos EUA em termos de variedade de ofertas de biopesticidas \u2014 diz que os distribuidores est\u00e3o cada vez mais atentos aos produtos das empresas de biopesticidas, que cresceram muito em qualidade, consist\u00eancia e facilidade de formula\u00e7\u00e3o e aplica\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFaz todo o sentido que os distribuidores promovam produtos (biol\u00f3gicos) confi\u00e1veis junto com (pesticidas sint\u00e9ticos)\u201d, diz Georgis.<\/p>\n<p>Para mostrar o qu\u00e3o longe o setor chegou, Georgis lembrou de startups que estavam ativas no in\u00edcio dos anos 80, quando a US EPA estava apenas come\u00e7ando a pressionar empresas de pesticidas qu\u00edmicos a desenvolver produtos qu\u00edmicos mais seguros e pedir mais dados para manter os registros de produtos. Havia a Biosys, que desenvolveu nematoides para controle de insetos; a Mycotec, que desenvolveu fungos para controle de insetos; e a Ecogen e a Mycogen \u2013 que ambas trabalhavam com transg\u00eanicos <em>Bt<\/em> para controle de insetos.<\/p>\n<p>Todos foram incapazes de entregar o potencial de volume de vendas amplamente exagerado de produtos biol\u00f3gicos que eles apregoavam para seus financiadores. Sua suposi\u00e7\u00e3o de que os produtos poderiam \u2013 e iriam \u2013 substituir pesticidas qu\u00edmicos inteiramente, \u00e9 claro, foi provada errada.<\/p>\n<p>Desde que as multinacionais entraram no espa\u00e7o e fizeram campanha para usar produtos biol\u00f3gicos junto com produtos qu\u00edmicos, a confian\u00e7a e a credibilidade do canal de distribui\u00e7\u00e3o aumentaram dramaticamente. \u201c\u00c9 uma evolu\u00e7\u00e3o natural\u201d, diz Georgis.<\/p>\n<p>Al\u00e9m dos Estados Unidos, Chile, Brasil, Col\u00f4mbia, M\u00e9xico, Espanha, It\u00e1lia, Marrocos e Austr\u00e1lia est\u00e3o altamente avan\u00e7ados na promo\u00e7\u00e3o de programas de IPM de biopesticidas, enquanto pa\u00edses como China, Tail\u00e2ndia e Indon\u00e9sia n\u00e3o est\u00e3o muito atr\u00e1s, diz Georgis. \u201cTodos esses pa\u00edses que exportam para os EUA e Europa precisam ter res\u00edduos quase indetect\u00e1veis nas planta\u00e7\u00f5es.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Retorno pelo seu investimento<\/strong><br \/>\nOs distribuidores melhoraram suas estrat\u00e9gias, mas a educa\u00e7\u00e3o cont\u00ednua \u00e9 essencial se eles esperam continuar atendendo \u00e0 demanda, afirma Warren Shafer, vice-presidente global de P&amp;D e assuntos regulat\u00f3rios da Valent BioSciences.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPara mim, o processo de educa\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 constante; voc\u00ea n\u00e3o pode desistir\u201d, ele diz. Conforme novas tecnologias e formula\u00e7\u00f5es com maior estabilidade, facilidade de uso ou outros atributos s\u00e3o trazidos \u00e0 tona, os distribuidores usam isso para se diferenciar, ele diz.<\/p>\n<p>Mas a publicidade por si s\u00f3 n\u00e3o \u00e9 suficiente.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPrecisamos educar ao longo do caminho para enfatizar o uso de biorracionais em conjunto com uma qu\u00edmica espec\u00edfica e olhar as coisas de um ponto de vista de solu\u00e7\u00f5es totais\u201d, diz ele.<\/p>\n<p>Qual \u00e9 o caminho certo para a educa\u00e7\u00e3o \u2013 e como voc\u00ea pode encontrar o melhor retorno pelo seu investimento \u2013 s\u00e3o quest\u00f5es em debate.<\/p>\n<p>Segundo Marrone, a sede por conhecimento e compreens\u00e3o abrangentes sobre produtos biol\u00f3gicos em geral e produtos biol\u00f3gicos espec\u00edficos \u00e9 muito alta.<\/p>\n<p>Pode n\u00e3o haver uma \u00fanica resposta sobre a abordagem mais lucrativa, mas uma abordagem dupla \u00e9 necess\u00e1ria, ela diz.
