Nos pr\u00f3ximos anos, a \u00e1rea de melhoramento de trigo ser\u00e1 ampliada para um total de 80 hectares.<\/p>\n<p>Al\u00e9m do desenvolvimento de variedades com maiores rendimentos e caracter\u00edsticas como maior resist\u00eancia a doen\u00e7as, os atuais 18 funcion\u00e1rios da Gatersleben coordenam todas as atividades de melhoramento de trigo da Bayer CropScience na Europa com esta\u00e7\u00f5es de melhoramento na Fran\u00e7a e Ucr\u00e2nia. A primeira variedade de trigo do programa de desenvolvimento da Bayer foi lan\u00e7ada este ano na Ucr\u00e2nia sob a marca \u201cAreal\u201d. A semente h\u00edbrida que promete estabilidade de rendimento significativamente melhorada est\u00e1 programada para estar dispon\u00edvel ap\u00f3s 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCom um total de 7 centros de melhoramento de trigo no mundo todo, agora temos condi\u00e7\u00f5es ideais para estabelecer uma posi\u00e7\u00e3o de lideran\u00e7a no neg\u00f3cio de sementes de trigo nos pr\u00f3ximos anos\u201d, disse Terhorst. A demanda por trigo est\u00e1 crescendo de forma constante e ultrapassando a produtividade. Para aumentar a produtividade sem impactar negativamente o meio ambiente, precisamos de inova\u00e7\u00e3o, e \u00e9 por isso que estamos investindo intensamente em pesquisa aqui em Gatersleben. Condi\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas extremas j\u00e1 desestabilizaram os mercados globais de trigo em v\u00e1rias ocasi\u00f5es desde 2000.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA quantidade de terra dispon\u00edvel para agricultura n\u00e3o vai aumentar significativamente, o que significa que precisamos de um aumento maci\u00e7o na produtividade agr\u00edcola mais urgentemente do que nunca\u201d, disse o palestrante convidado Professor Jochen Christoph Reif, Chefe do Departamento de Pesquisa de Melhoramento do Instituto Leibniz de Gen\u00e9tica Vegetal e Pesquisa de Culturas em Gatersleben.<\/p>\n<p>Os principais objetivos dos melhoristas de trigo da Bayer CropScience s\u00e3o estabilidade de rendimento, aumento de rendimento e utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o eficiente de nutrientes, por exemplo, absor\u00e7\u00e3o de nitrog\u00eanio e f\u00f3sforo.
