Mas, como todos os perigos que encontramos diariamente, os riscos podem ser gerenciados a um n\u00edvel que n\u00e3o ameace a seguran\u00e7a e a sa\u00fade dos humanos ou do meio ambiente.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px\">Um princ\u00edpio b\u00e1sico da toxicologia \u00e9 que a dose faz o veneno. Todos os produtos qu\u00edmicos \u2014 at\u00e9 mesmo \u00e1gua e oxig\u00eanio \u2014 podem ser perigosos em quantidades excessivas. Ao longo dos anos, a IARC encontrou um risco potencial em centenas de itens do dia a dia, incluindo celulares, vegetais em conserva, cal\u00e7as de ioga e talco \u2014 e em 2015, salsichas, bacon, carne vermelha e v\u00e1rios produtos de prote\u00e7\u00e3o de cultivos foram adicionados \u00e0 lista. Se considerarmos a intera\u00e7\u00e3o com o sistema end\u00f3crino como o \u00fanico crit\u00e9rio para definir um desregulador end\u00f3crino, ent\u00e3o o acetaminofeno (Tylenol), a vitamina C e o vinho seriam desreguladores end\u00f3crinos. \u00c9 fundamental que levemos em considera\u00e7\u00e3o o risco real de uma subst\u00e2ncia com base em sua pot\u00eancia, dose e exposi\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>O C\u00f3digo Internacional de Conduta sobre Gest\u00e3o de Pesticidas diz que os produtos de prote\u00e7\u00e3o de cultivos devem ser regulamentados com base no risco, n\u00e3o no perigo, e a CropLife International est\u00e1 se esfor\u00e7ando para trabalhar com a Organiza\u00e7\u00e3o das Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas para Agricultura e Alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o (FAO) e outras partes interessadas para promover essa abordagem.
