N\u00f3s meio que sabemos o que esperar. H\u00e1 um problema com a disponibilidade de inseticidas e algumas pragas novas, mas acho que podemos lidar com elas... A maior mudan\u00e7a (do ano passado) \u00e9 com o plantio precoce e o tempo de doen\u00e7as nas mudas. Se plantarmos e levarmos nossa soja e milho cedo, isso ser\u00e1 um estresse maior\u201d, ele diz.<\/p>\n<p>Fellows, ecoando a maioria dos outros, espera que o plantio provavelmente aconte\u00e7a mais cedo este ano. Solos mais frios significam germina\u00e7\u00e3o mais lenta e, consequentemente, influ\u00eancias mais pesadas de doen\u00e7as de sementes como <em>P\u00edtio<\/em> e <em>Rhizoctonia<\/em>, ent\u00e3o os produtores precisar\u00e3o ficar atentos.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00e3o \u00e9 de surpreender que muito do que poderemos ver em 2016 depender\u00e1 dos padr\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticos no in\u00edcio e no meio do ver\u00e3o, diz a Dra. Tamra Jackson-Ziems, Professora Associada do Departamento de Patologia Vegetal da Universidade de Nebraska. As condi\u00e7\u00f5es ideais fizeram com que a ferrugem foliar do milho do Norte proliferasse na \u00faltima temporada, assim como a mancha foliar cinza conforme o ver\u00e3o avan\u00e7ava.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOs fungos hibernam em res\u00edduos, ent\u00e3o \u00e9 prov\u00e1vel que o fungo ainda esteja l\u00e1 e que o veremos novamente. Tivemos condi\u00e7\u00f5es favor\u00e1veis em 2014 e 2015 por causa da umidade extra. Se a temperatura e a umidade forem favor\u00e1veis em 2016, isso pode acontecer novamente \u2014 especialmente se os h\u00edbridos forem suscet\u00edveis\u201d, ela diz.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c9 importante que os produtores posicionem h\u00edbridos resistentes para controlar doen\u00e7as, mas, infelizmente, muitos j\u00e1 fizeram pedidos de sementes para 2016. Ela acrescenta que selecionar h\u00edbridos resistentes a doen\u00e7as \u00e9 uma maneira de reduzir os custos de insumos na atual crise do pre\u00e7o do milho. \u201cAl\u00e9m disso, eles podem usar fungicidas foliares, rota\u00e7\u00e3o de culturas ou at\u00e9 mesmo lavoura para reduzir doen\u00e7as este ano.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A praga foliar do milho do norte atingiu Nebraska t\u00e3o cedo na temporada passada que pegou os fazendeiros desprevenidos, diz Jackson-Ziems. \u201cEles n\u00e3o estavam prontos. Aprendemos rapidamente que alguns h\u00edbridos s\u00e3o muito mais suscet\u00edveis do que outros.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>O que impressiona os Fellows da BASF \u00e9 o potencial para outro grande surto de queimadura foliar do milho do Norte em 2016. O surto do ano passado chegou tr\u00eas semanas antes do normal em Iowa, e a grande abund\u00e2ncia da doen\u00e7a significou que uma quantidade tremenda de in\u00f3culo foi deixada nos res\u00edduos da colheita no solo para hibernar. &quot;Como tivemos um inverno muito aberto e bastante ameno no Centro-Oeste, n\u00e3o podemos garantir, mas eu certamente esperaria que o potencial para alta press\u00e3o da doen\u00e7a estivesse aqui novamente. Geneticamente, os milhos n\u00e3o mudaram muito&quot;, ele ressalta, acrescentando que os fungicidas no sulco ajudar\u00e3o as plantas estressadas por condi\u00e7\u00f5es frias a sair do solo e proteger contra doen\u00e7as.<\/p>\n<p>Fellows aconselha vigil\u00e2ncia na busca por les\u00f5es, especialmente em junho. \u201cO problema com doen\u00e7as de plantas \u00e9 que, uma vez que elas matam parte da folha ou causam manchas mortas, essa parte da folha n\u00e3o vai mais funcionar. Se voc\u00ea arrancar folhas da planta, isso significa que a planta canibaliza o caule mais tarde no ano e voc\u00ea acaba com mais acamamento mais tarde.\u201d Durante o est\u00e1gio vegetativo V14 a V18 \u00e9 o momento de entrar com um fungicida, como o Priaxor da BASF. Se a doen\u00e7a n\u00e3o aparecer at\u00e9 a \u00e9poca da borla, mude para o Headline AMP, uma combina\u00e7\u00e3o de estrobilurina-triazol, ele diz.<\/p>\n<p>Para a soja, ele v\u00ea uma press\u00e3o de doen\u00e7a semelhante \u00e0 do ano passado no Centro-Oeste. Adiar o plantio \u00e9 vantajoso para os rendimentos da soja, com o objetivo de obter a maior planta poss\u00edvel antes da mudan\u00e7a do est\u00e1gio vegetativo para o reprodutivo. Ao mesmo tempo, as leguminosas n\u00e3o se d\u00e3o bem em condi\u00e7\u00f5es estressantes do solo, ent\u00e3o um tratamento no sulco como o Priaxor, al\u00e9m do tratamento de sementes, oferecer\u00e1 prote\u00e7\u00e3o contra doen\u00e7as, bem como benef\u00edcios \u00e0 sa\u00fade da planta.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Uma Ci\u00eancia Inexata<\/strong><br \/>\nA previs\u00e3o de pragas de insetos \u00e9 uma ci\u00eancia inexata, diz Christa Ellers-Kirk, Cientista Pesquisadora S\u00eanior da BASF, e h\u00e1 muito a ser levado em conta, incluindo a sa\u00fade da popula\u00e7\u00e3o de insetos que hibernam em uma determinada regi\u00e3o, a sa\u00fade de seu hospedeiro que hiberna (se houver um), padr\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticos e esp\u00e9cies migrat\u00f3rias que s\u00e3o frequentemente influenciadas pela corrente de jato, ela diz. Isso pode diminuir a capacidade do milho de se recuperar de danos causados pela alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o. Isso \u00e9 definitivamente algo para se observar\u201d, ela diz.<br \/>\nA lagarta da espiga do milho tamb\u00e9m pode ser vista se movendo para o milho mais cedo do que o normal por causa do clima mais quente. A praga pega uma carona para o norte, para o Centro-Oeste, na Corrente do Golfo, ent\u00e3o o movimento \u00e9 altamente dependente das condi\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas e da corrente de ar.<\/p>\n<p>Um fator a ser considerado: produtores em processo de redu\u00e7\u00e3o de custos est\u00e3o cada vez mais plantando sementes convencionais mais baratas, que obviamente n\u00e3o conferem resist\u00eancia a insetos, diz o Dr. David Kerns, professor associado de Entomologia na Louisiana State University.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEssas (linhagens convencionais) t\u00eam uma chance de produzir mais lagartas da espiga do milho. Com o inverno mais quente que tivemos, estou ouvindo relatos do sul da Louisiana de muitas brocas da cana-de-a\u00e7\u00facar hibernando com sucesso na cana-de-a\u00e7\u00facar, e a broca da cana-de-a\u00e7\u00facar tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 uma praga significativa do milho\u201d, diz Kerns.<\/p>\n<p>Na soja, o pulg\u00e3o da soja \u00e9 a praga a ser observada, principalmente se as temperaturas permanecerem abaixo de 90 graus. M\u00faltiplas popula\u00e7\u00f5es podem se banquetear com as colheitas em um ano e, se isso acontecer, alternar seu modo de a\u00e7\u00e3o \u2014 um piretroide seguido por um organofosforado, por exemplo \u2014 \u00e9 fundamental, diz Ellers-Kirk da BASF.<\/p>\n<p>Um baixo n\u00edvel de resist\u00eancia aos piretroides foi observado em 2015 ao longo da fronteira entre o sudoeste de Minnesota e o noroeste de Iowa, o que torna a rota\u00e7\u00e3o de modos de a\u00e7\u00e3o no campo ainda mais crucial.<\/p>\n<p>O gatilho para aplica\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 250 pulg\u00f5es por planta em 80% do seu campo, diz Ellers-Kirk, acrescentando: \u201cSe voc\u00ea tem alguns pulg\u00f5es de soja em seus campos, muito em breve esse casal vai se transformar em centenas e depois milhares, ent\u00e3o h\u00e1 uma necessidade de reconhecimento. Realmente conferir com seu agente de extens\u00e3o local \u00e9 a melhor maneira de fazer isso.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>A espera da Se\u00e7\u00e3o 18<\/strong><br \/>\nStewart, da Universidade do Tennessee, espera que o problema do pulg\u00e3o da cana-de-a\u00e7\u00facar no sorgo gran\u00edfero seja t\u00e3o ruim ou pior quanto no ano passado. No entanto, no Tennessee, a atual economia desfavor\u00e1vel para o cultivo de sorgo significar\u00e1 que apenas cerca de 25.000 acres ser\u00e3o plantados l\u00e1 este ano, uma queda acentuada dos 125.000 acres do ano passado, ele diz.<\/p>\n<p>A maioria dos estados do Sul est\u00e1 enviando pedidos de isen\u00e7\u00e3o da Se\u00e7\u00e3o 18 para o sulfoxaflor cancelado, o ingrediente ativo do Transform da Dow AgroSciences, que era a principal escolha dos produtores para controlar a praga.<\/p>\n<p>A \u00fanica alternativa adequada ao Transform \u00e9 o Sivanto da Bayer CropScience, que tem uma restri\u00e7\u00e3o de pr\u00e9-colheita de 21 dias, em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com 14 dias para o Transform. \u201cCom esses pulg\u00f5es, muitas vezes voc\u00ea tem que fazer uma aplica\u00e7\u00e3o perto da colheita\u201d, Stewart ressalta.<\/p>\n<p>O Transform tamb\u00e9m era um produto importante no algod\u00e3o e, com mais \u00e1rea de algod\u00e3o planejada para este ano, ser\u00e1 um desafio se os pedidos da Se\u00e7\u00e3o 18 n\u00e3o forem atendidos pela EPA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSem esse produto, o controle de insetos de plantas ser\u00e1 mais dif\u00edcil, e podemos ter que depender mais de produtos de amplo espectro, como organofosforados e piretr\u00f3ides, que s\u00e3o muito mais prejudiciais aos inimigos naturais do que o Transform\u201d, diz Kerns. Na verdade, ele atribui grandes ganhos na produ\u00e7\u00e3o m\u00e9dia de algod\u00e3o na Louisiana (1.053 libras por acre nos quatro anos ap\u00f3s a introdu\u00e7\u00e3o do Transform vs. 752 libras por acre nos quatro anos anteriores) em grande parte \u00e0 capacidade do produto de controlar insetos de plantas.<\/p>\n<p>Tamb\u00e9m afetando o algod\u00e3o na Louisiana est\u00e3o os problemas de resist\u00eancia, n\u00e3o apenas aos piretr\u00f3ides, mas tamb\u00e9m a um dos <em>Bt Chora<\/em> prote\u00ednas incorporadas na planta, <em>Chore1AC.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Na soja, ele espera que os problemas com o percevejo vermelho se intensifiquem no estado.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSe eu fosse pender para um lado ou para o outro, provavelmente ter\u00edamos mais, em vez de menos, problemas do que nos \u00faltimos dois anos.
