Isso inclui inova\u00e7\u00f5es em formula\u00e7\u00e3o e aplica\u00e7\u00e3o de pesticidas convencionais (herbicidas, inseticidas e fungicidas), bem como o desenvolvimento e a aplica\u00e7\u00e3o de biopesticidas economicamente vi\u00e1veis.<\/p>\n

Tend\u00eancias de prote\u00e7\u00e3o de cultivos<\/h2>\n

As estimativas dos tamanhos do mercado global de produtos de prote\u00e7\u00e3o de cultivos (pesticidas convencionais e biopesticidas) variam, mas o consenso \u00e9 que os biopesticidas devem aumentar de cerca de 2% do mercado global de pesticidas em 2003 para cerca de 8% do mercado global de pesticidas (estimado em mais de 82 bilh\u00f5es de d\u00f3lares) em 2020.<\/p>\n

A opini\u00e3o atual \u00e9 que a taxa de crescimento anual composta (CAGR) para biopesticidas durante este per\u00edodo deve exceder 12%, em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com uma CAGR geral esperada para pesticidas de cerca de 7%.<\/p>\n

Enquanto os pre\u00e7os mais baixos do petr\u00f3leo permitem uma produ\u00e7\u00e3o mais barata, os decl\u00ednios associados nas margens do bioetanol restringem a disposi\u00e7\u00e3o dos produtores de investir nesses produtos.<\/p>\n

Requisitos regulat\u00f3rios mais rigorosos para pesticidas na UE e no Brasil restringem o acesso e aumentam os custos de registro, enquanto um decl\u00ednio associado no n\u00famero de subst\u00e2ncias ativas registradas na UE est\u00e1 reduzindo o potencial de estrat\u00e9gias de resist\u00eancia \u00e0 prote\u00e7\u00e3o de cultivos.<\/p>\n

Tend\u00eancias e impulsionadores dos biopesticidas<\/h2>\n

Na UE, requisitos regulat\u00f3rios mais rigorosos para pesticidas, conscientiza\u00e7\u00e3o do consumidor sobre os perigos causados por pesticidas qu\u00edmicos e a elimina\u00e7\u00e3o gradual de pesticidas convencionais t\u00f3xicos s\u00e3o fatores que impulsionam o crescimento do mercado de biopesticidas.<\/p>\n

As principais empresas agroqu\u00edmicas est\u00e3o expandindo seus portf\u00f3lios e P&D de biopesticidas, com foco em bioqu\u00edmicos, como metab\u00f3litos naturais com atividades entomopatog\u00eanicas ou antif\u00fangicas, microbioma (micr\u00f3bios ben\u00e9ficos que melhoram a absor\u00e7\u00e3o de nutrientes e a resist\u00eancia a doen\u00e7as em planta\u00e7\u00f5es) e t\u00e9cnicas biol\u00f3gicas moleculares (direcionamento gen\u00e9tico), como CRISPR<\/a> e RNAi.<\/p>\n

Ensaios de efic\u00e1cia demonstram conclusivamente que estrat\u00e9gias de prote\u00e7\u00e3o de cultivos baseadas em biologia podem atingir uma efici\u00eancia pelo menos equivalente \u00e0s estrat\u00e9gias convencionais de prote\u00e7\u00e3o de cultivos, quando aplicadas com a devida considera\u00e7\u00e3o a fatores como a cin\u00e9tica de resposta da planta e o desenvolvimento da press\u00e3o de doen\u00e7as.<\/p>\n

Por outro lado, relatos de efic\u00e1cia inconsistente no campo levam ao excesso de otimismo ou ceticismo por parte de tomadores de decis\u00e3o corporativos e fazendeiros. Do ponto de vista do produtor\/usu\u00e1rio final, uma importante for\u00e7a estrat\u00e9gica dos biopesticidas est\u00e1 em sua aplica\u00e7\u00e3o em momentos espec\u00edficos, como a aplica\u00e7\u00e3o pr\u00e9-colheita.<\/p>\n

Intervalos curtos de pr\u00e9-colheita permitem a aplica\u00e7\u00e3o de biopesticidas (especialmente biofungicidas) imediatamente antes da colheita, onde poucos (ou nenhum) pesticidas convencionais est\u00e3o dispon\u00edveis.<\/p>\n
