O lan\u00e7amento \u00e9 o terceiro e \u00faltimo de uma iniciativa da CTA que apoia a expans\u00e3o de tecnologias comprovadas de agricultura clim\u00e1tica inteligente na Jamaica, Mali e agora na Eti\u00f3pia.<\/p>\n<p>O projeto de 22 meses, intitulado &#039;Acelerando a Ado\u00e7\u00e3o da Agricultura Climaticamente Inteligente na Eti\u00f3pia&#039;, ajudar\u00e1 pequenos agricultores a se adaptarem \u00e0s mudan\u00e7as clim\u00e1ticas por meio da ado\u00e7\u00e3o de tecnologias e pr\u00e1ticas clim\u00e1ticas inteligentes, incluindo o fornecimento de informa\u00e7\u00f5es meteorol\u00f3gicas e de mercado baseadas em TIC. Ele ter\u00e1 como alvo 20.000 pequenos agricultores em tr\u00eas distritos (conhecidos como woredas) da regi\u00e3o, a saber, Halaba woreda especial, Hadero Tunto e Damot Gale.<\/p>\n<p>Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) foi desenvolvida como uma abordagem para atingir &#039;triple wins&#039; na agricultura por meio do aumento da produtividade agr\u00edcola, adapta\u00e7\u00e3o (apoio \u00e0s planta\u00e7\u00f5es para crescerem em condi\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas em mudan\u00e7a) e mitiga\u00e7\u00e3o (redu\u00e7\u00e3o das emiss\u00f5es de gases de efeito estufa). Apesar da exist\u00eancia de muitas inova\u00e7\u00f5es CSA inovadoras, a ado\u00e7\u00e3o em massa dessas abordagens agr\u00edcolas potencialmente transformadoras pelos fazendeiros tem sido lenta.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPrecisamos desenvolver a capacidade dos pequenos agricultores para lidar com a variabilidade clim\u00e1tica imprevis\u00edvel por meio de inova\u00e7\u00f5es em tecnologia e pr\u00e1ticas agr\u00edcolas aprimoradas. Este projeto servir\u00e1 para testar algumas dessas inova\u00e7\u00f5es e abrir caminho para a expans\u00e3o de pr\u00e1ticas bem-sucedidas para um grande n\u00famero de agricultores\u201d, disse Michael Hailu, Diretor da CTA.<\/p>\n<p>Yasmin Abdulwassie, Diretora da Farm Africa Eti\u00f3pia, comentou: \u201cEstamos muito felizes em trabalhar com a CTA para ajudar agricultores em SNNPR a aumentar seus rendimentos de uma forma ambientalmente sustent\u00e1vel. Este projeto ajudar\u00e1 a impulsionar n\u00e3o apenas a seguran\u00e7a alimentar, mas tamb\u00e9m a renda familiar de milhares de pessoas que vivem em uma regi\u00e3o propensa a extremos clim\u00e1ticos.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>O financiamento para o projeto vem da Uni\u00e3o Europeia por meio do CTA. Os resultados esperados incluem aumento da produtividade agr\u00edcola e da seguran\u00e7a alimentar para pequenos agricultores e melhor capacidade de adapta\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0s incertezas clim\u00e1ticas para pequenos agricultores.
