\nOs pa\u00edses em desenvolvimento \u2014 Qu\u00eania, Eti\u00f3pia, Col\u00f4mbia, Equador, Guatemala, Peru, Argentina e a maioria das na\u00e7\u00f5es equatoriais \u2014 est\u00e3o crescendo para mercados de exporta\u00e7\u00e3o. Os agricultores est\u00e3o sentindo a press\u00e3o para melhorar os rendimentos com margens menores. Nos \u00faltimos 10 anos, houve muito pouco aumento nos pre\u00e7os agr\u00edcolas de produtos frescos em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com os pre\u00e7os das commodities. Apesar disso, os pre\u00e7os dos agroqu\u00edmicos aumentaram na mesma propor\u00e7\u00e3o que os pre\u00e7os da gasolina. Isso significa que os agricultores t\u00eam uma margem muito menor, e a \u00fanica maneira de melhorar isso \u00e9 por meio de rendimentos melhorados. P. Como os produtos biol\u00f3gicos se comparam aos pesticidas convencionais?<\/strong>
\nEm todo o mundo, os produtos biol\u00f3gicos s\u00e3o regulamentados exatamente da mesma forma que os agroqu\u00edmicos tradicionais. O que isso significa \u00e9 que se uma empresa est\u00e1 desenvolvendo uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o e quer colocar esse produto no mercado, a empresa tem que provar ao regulador agr\u00edcola local que o produto funciona t\u00e3o bem ou melhor do que as solu\u00e7\u00f5es mais comuns existentes no mercado.<\/p>\n

P. Como voc\u00ea descreveria o crescimento de mercado da ind\u00fastria biol\u00f3gica?<\/strong>
\nEstimamos que o mercado biol\u00f3gico valha mais de $4 bilh\u00f5es e esteja crescendo a uma taxa de crescimento anual composta de dois d\u00edgitos. Como presidente da Bioprotection Global, meu objetivo \u00e9 supervisionar uma r\u00e1pida expans\u00e3o da ind\u00fastria, algo que estamos vendo nas atividades de fus\u00f5es e aquisi\u00e7\u00f5es incorporadas \u00e0 ind\u00fastria. At\u00e9 mesmo grandes empresas qu\u00edmicas como Bayer, Monsanto e outras reconhecem a import\u00e2ncia dos produtos biol\u00f3gicos e bioestimulantes e querem adquirir empresas neste segmento.<\/p>\n

P. O que est\u00e1 levando as empresas globais a adotarem biopesticidas e bioestimulantes?<\/strong>
\nO aumento da competitividade no espa\u00e7o biol\u00f3gico \u00e9 positivo, e o fato de que a ind\u00fastria est\u00e1 em um caminho de crescimento est\u00e1 atraindo empresas agroqu\u00edmicas. Isso \u00e9 bom porque as for\u00e7as de mercado resultar\u00e3o em queda de pre\u00e7os, beneficiando, em \u00faltima an\u00e1lise, os agricultores.<\/p>\n

P. Apesar do crescimento dos biol\u00f3gicos, os pesticidas convencionais ainda dominam o mercado. O que voc\u00ea acha?<\/strong>
\nReconhecemos que produtos patenteados est\u00e3o saindo do r\u00f3tulo, e a realidade \u00e9 que mais e mais produtos gen\u00e9ricos est\u00e3o chegando ao mercado. H\u00e1 uma enorme press\u00e3o sobre os reguladores para garantir a qualidade dos produtos gen\u00e9ricos, particularmente da \u00cdndia e da China. Os reguladores devem garantir que esses produtos sejam robustos, de alta qualidade e forne\u00e7am as solu\u00e7\u00f5es certas aos agricultores.
