Antes da fus\u00e3o, Casanello atuou como Presidente da Arysta LifeScience, sediada em Cary, Carolina do Norte.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ABG<\/em>:Onde est\u00e3o os maiores ganhos para a nova empresa? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As duas empresas anteriores foram muito bem-sucedidas em superar o mercado. Mas elas fizeram neg\u00f3cios \u00e0 sua maneira. Ambas as empresas encontraram uma maneira de serem bem-sucedidas sendo diferentes de muitas outras empresas no neg\u00f3cio de prote\u00e7\u00e3o de cultivos. No caso da UPL, elas conseguiram ser as l\u00edderes absolutas em custos e, ao mesmo tempo, ser a empresa mais \u00e1gil do mercado. No caso da Arysta, focamos em marketing \u2013 em ser uma pot\u00eancia de marketing \u2013 e em relacionamentos com clientes e tecnologia.<\/p>\n<p>Agora estamos unindo essas duas empresas e queremos manter esses atributos. Indo para os pr\u00f3ximos cinco anos, planejamos dobrar o neg\u00f3cio novamente.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ABG<\/em>:O que vem por a\u00ed para a nova UPL?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Estamos finalizando a integra\u00e7\u00e3o, mas estamos muito \u00e0 frente da curva aqui. Come\u00e7amos cedo com o planejamento, ent\u00e3o sentimos que j\u00e1 est\u00e1vamos trabalhando h\u00e1 algum tempo. Hoje, com o primeiro dia, podemos entrar em mais detalhes e executar os planos de implementa\u00e7\u00e3o. Estamos muito confiantes de que podemos operar muito rapidamente como uma empresa.<\/p>\n<p>O futuro para n\u00f3s tem sido realmente expandir nossa compreens\u00e3o do mercado de prote\u00e7\u00e3o de cultivos. Para n\u00f3s, esse mercado \u00e9 mais do que apenas prote\u00e7\u00e3o qu\u00edmica de cultivos \u2013 estamos expandindo para biosolu\u00e7\u00f5es. Seremos a empresa n\u00famero um em biosolu\u00e7\u00f5es se voc\u00ea nos medir em vendas, mas tamb\u00e9m em termos das tecnologias em que estamos trabalhando. Tamb\u00e9m estamos indo para v\u00e1rios pa\u00edses em ofertas de servi\u00e7os na \u00cdndia, onde estamos fornecendo produtos de prote\u00e7\u00e3o de cultivos para fazendeiros, e tamb\u00e9m na Austr\u00e1lia, onde a Arysta costumava tratar sementes para fazendeiros com unidades m\u00f3veis.<\/p>\n<p>Pensamos sobre esse mercado de forma muito mais ampla do que apenas prote\u00e7\u00e3o qu\u00edmica de cultivos. Para nossas equipes, isso significa pensar n\u00e3o apenas em produtos individuais, mas na venda de solu\u00e7\u00f5es, ent\u00e3o esse ser\u00e1 o foco no curto prazo.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ABG<\/em>:Voc\u00ea pode falar mais sobre seus planos de expans\u00e3o em bioprodutos?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>J\u00e1 estamos desempenhando um papel tanto em bioestimulantes quanto em biocontroles. Temos um pipeline muito interessante baseado em tecnologias de micr\u00f3bios e ferom\u00f4nios, e extratos de plantas. Nesses campos, estamos fazendo pesquisas e sentimos que estamos muito bem posicionados. Compramos alguns produtos muito importantes e algumas empresas estabelecidas no passado, ent\u00e3o hoje temos um \u00f3timo ponto de partida.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ABG<\/em>: O que a aquisi\u00e7\u00e3o significar\u00e1 para os compradores no que diz respeito a como ela pode ajudar a resolver alguns dos problemas que eles est\u00e3o enfrentando agora, incluindo o fornecimento de produtos?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Somos bem diversificados quando se trata de nosso sourcing. Temos v\u00e1rios parceiros, muitos deles na China, e agora com a nova UPL, teremos uma presen\u00e7a forte na \u00cdndia, na China e em outros lugares. Tentamos focar no agricultor. Nossa abordagem \u00e9, ficar perto do agricultor; entender a necessidade do agricultor. Os agricultores de hoje ter\u00e3o muito mais necessidades do que apenas controlar uma praga ou doen\u00e7a. Eles querem produzir de forma mais saud\u00e1vel, mais sustent\u00e1vel; eles tamb\u00e9m querem ganhar a vida com isso. Estamos focando nisso. Acreditamos que, ao fazer isso e ser consistente, isso define nosso papel, e n\u00e3o tentar ver como podemos tomar este ou aquele espa\u00e7o de prateleira na distribui\u00e7\u00e3o, ou tentar imitar, ou tentar &quot;comer o almo\u00e7o&quot; de alguns de nossos concorrentes.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ABG<\/em>: O foco do seu mercado mudar\u00e1 de alguma forma \u2013 e voc\u00ea tem planos de entrar em novos mercados? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>J\u00e1 somos uma empresa global, mas obviamente seguiremos em frente. Ambas as empresas juntas ter\u00e3o um amplo portf\u00f3lio em todos os principais mercados agr\u00edcolas. Temos uma longa tradi\u00e7\u00e3o, tanto a UPL quanto a Arysta, de atuar em mercados emergentes. A UPL \u00e9 obviamente uma consorte da \u00cdndia, mas ambas as empresas t\u00eam hist\u00f3rico na Am\u00e9rica Latina, \u00c1sia, \u00c1frica \u2013 a Arysta \u00e9 a n\u00famero dois na \u00c1frica.<\/p>\n<p>Queremos obviamente continuar a focar nesses mercados, porque \u00e9 onde a agricultura vai crescer mais. Aqui, n\u00e3o se trata apenas de trazer produtos, mas voc\u00ea precisa realmente desenvolver a infraestrutura necess\u00e1ria nesses pa\u00edses para estabelecer tecnologias e trabalhar junto com os agricultores. Acho que aqui estamos muito bem presentes. Se voc\u00ea olhar para a regi\u00e3o de Adean na Am\u00e9rica Latina ou no Brasil, temos uma posi\u00e7\u00e3o muito forte. Somos fortes no Sudeste Asi\u00e1tico, \u00cdndia e \u00c1frica. Esses s\u00e3o mercados que est\u00e3o crescendo muito r\u00e1pido.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ABG:<\/em> Muitas vezes ouvimos sobre as culturas conflitantes de duas empresas que est\u00e3o se fundindo. Como a UPL e a Arysta est\u00e3o lidando com isso, vindas de origens t\u00e3o diferentes? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>O que vimos \u00e9 que temos algumas semelhan\u00e7as e algumas diferen\u00e7as. Acho que a chave aqui \u00e9 estar ciente dessas diferen\u00e7as, mas o mais importante \u00e9 que o que estamos fazendo agora como parte da integra\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 basicamente perguntar \u00e0s nossas equipes, clientes e parceiros: &#039;Quais s\u00e3o os atributos que tornam ambas as empresas t\u00e3o bem-sucedidas para continuar avan\u00e7ando?&#039;<\/p>\n<p>Estamos definindo nossos valores e princ\u00edpios, e hoje apresentamos \u00e0s nossas equipes o novo prop\u00f3sito da empresa. \u00c9 isso que nos inspira a fazer parte da empresa e vir trabalhar todos os dias. Voc\u00eas deveriam ter visto a empolga\u00e7\u00e3o nas equipes. Acho que estamos ganhando muito impulso. Estamos moldando nossa nova cultura enquanto falamos.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ABG:<\/em><\/strong> <strong>Olhando mais para o panorama geral, voc\u00ea pode compartilhar suas ideias sobre a pr\u00f3xima megafus\u00e3o neste espa\u00e7o \u2013 ChemChina-Sinochem \u2013 e como ela mudar\u00e1 o mercado agroqu\u00edmico?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Obviamente, a consolida\u00e7\u00e3o ainda n\u00e3o acabou. Pense nisso, voc\u00ea precisa de escala tanto na fabrica\u00e7\u00e3o quanto em termos da presen\u00e7a que voc\u00ea tem no mercado. Por um lado, o fazendeiro precisa de uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o. Ele n\u00e3o est\u00e1 pedindo um produto; ele est\u00e1 pedindo para voc\u00ea resolver um problema de pulveriza\u00e7\u00e3o. Voc\u00ea precisa ter um portf\u00f3lio agressivo e pessoas no campo que v\u00e3o trabalhar com fazendeiros. Ao mesmo tempo, voc\u00ea precisa ser competitivo em termos de custo.<\/p>\n<p>A renda dos agricultores ao redor do mundo \u00e9 sempre um problema. Voc\u00ea precisa ter certeza de que \u00e9 competitivo em termos de custo, e isso significa ter economias de escala na produ\u00e7\u00e3o. Isso vai continuar a impulsionar a consolida\u00e7\u00e3o na China, e acredito que a nova UPL ser\u00e1 um grande player com um p\u00e9 muito forte na \u00cdndia, e voc\u00ea tem outras empresas com um p\u00e9 forte na China. Eles precisam de um parceiro que entenda o setor da mesma forma que n\u00f3s.
