Pesquisas sobre impactos \u00e0 sa\u00fade t\u00eam se concentrado principalmente na toxicidade e patogenicidade potenciais, enquanto sua alergenicidade potencial \u00e9 menos estudada.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bioinseticidas<\/strong><br \/>\nOs bioinseticidas incluem microrganismos (como <em>B. thuringiensis<\/em>) que infectam insetos ou nematoides, e compostos naturais com atividade inseticida provenientes de microrganismos, plantas ou animais.<\/p>\n<p>Algumas cepas de <em>Bacilo thuringiensis<\/em> (Bt) s\u00e3o espec\u00edficos para esp\u00e9cies de Lepidoptera, enquanto outras linhagens podem ter como alvo larvas de Diptera e Hemiptera. Relatos de toxicidade de Bt para organismos n\u00e3o alvo, bem como a liga\u00e7\u00e3o de toxinas bacterianas a solos argilosos, t\u00eam sido o t\u00f3pico de debate. A maioria dos pesquisadores concorda que o monitoramento de Bt deve continuar, e seu uso modificado conforme apropriado.<\/p>\n<p>Bioinseticidas bioqu\u00edmicos s\u00e3o compostos naturais, normalmente produzidos por plantas para defesa contra preda\u00e7\u00e3o, mas tamb\u00e9m incluem extratos microbianos que controlam insetos ou induzem respostas de defesa das plantas.<\/p>\n<p>Bioinseticidas bioqu\u00edmicos podem ter como alvo fun\u00e7\u00f5es neurais espec\u00edficas de insetos, como a capta\u00e7\u00e3o de \u00edons atrav\u00e9s de membranas neurais. Os esporos de bact\u00e9rias Bacillus (especialmente <em>Bacilo cereus<\/em> e o &#039;<em>Bacilo subtilis<\/em>&#039; grupo) pode contaminar e formar toxinas em materiais alimentares, levando a doen\u00e7as gastrointestinais<\/p>\n<p>Biofungicidas bioqu\u00edmicos incluem aqueles capazes de induzir defesas end\u00f3genas de plantas na forma de metab\u00f3litos secund\u00e1rios de plantas.<\/p>\n<p>Embora os pr\u00f3prios eliciadores biopesticidas das respostas de defesa das plantas possam ser benignos, os metab\u00f3litos secund\u00e1rios induzidos pelas plantas podem representar um risco toxicol\u00f3gico.<\/p>\n<p>Do ponto de vista do potencial de risco \u00e0 sa\u00fade humana ou ao meio ambiente, devemos ter em mente que as toxinas naturais podem ser muitas vezes mais t\u00f3xicas do que as toxinas sint\u00e9ticas.<\/p>\n<p>Um fator-chave que impulsiona a prov\u00e1vel introdu\u00e7\u00e3o de regulamenta\u00e7\u00f5es nacionais e da UE mais rigorosas \u00e9, portanto, o foco crescente nos potenciais impactos \u00e0 sa\u00fade e ao meio ambiente de toxinas ou metab\u00f3litos naturais de plantas produzidos pela indu\u00e7\u00e3o de respostas de defesa de plantas por biopesticidas.<\/p>\n<p>Da mesma forma, para culturas org\u00e2nicas que dependem da indu\u00e7\u00e3o de defesas naturais das plantas contra pragas e pat\u00f3genos, as perspectivas de sa\u00fade humana e ambiental das toxinas relacionadas \u00e0 defesa das plantas s\u00e3o objeto de crescente interesse em pesquisas.<\/p>\n<h2>Inertes para formula\u00e7\u00e3o de biopesticidas<\/h2>\n<p>Para muitos biopesticidas, os componentes da formula\u00e7\u00e3o s\u00e3o inertes ou n\u00e3o apresentam preocupa\u00e7\u00e3o toxicol\u00f3gica, e a avalia\u00e7\u00e3o de risco pode ser baseada apenas na subst\u00e2ncia ativa e com base em evid\u00eancias cient\u00edficas.<\/p>\n<p>O termo \u201cinertes\u201d pode, no entanto, ser enganoso, pois implica que esses componentes n\u00e3o t\u00eam uma fun\u00e7\u00e3o espec\u00edfica ou que s\u00e3o benignos de uma perspectiva de sa\u00fade humana e ambiental.<\/p>\n<p>Inertes podem ter impactos na sa\u00fade e no ecossistema, incluindo disrup\u00e7\u00e3o end\u00f3crina e efeitos alerg\u00eanicos. Os benef\u00edcios comuns mencionados incluem:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cOs biopesticidas s\u00e3o geralmente biodegrad\u00e1veis\u201d<\/strong><br \/>\nEmbora os biopesticidas sejam geralmente degradados rapidamente \u2014 um fator citado como uma vantagem ecotoxicol\u00f3gica, mas como uma desvantagem em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 estabilidade do produto em condi\u00e7\u00f5es de campo \u2014 deve-se tomar cuidado para evitar generaliza\u00e7\u00f5es excessivas.<\/p>\n<p>Como muitos biopesticidas est\u00e3o sujeitos \u00e0 degrada\u00e7\u00e3o microbiana e UV, a taxa de degrada\u00e7\u00e3o pode diminuir significativamente em condi\u00e7\u00f5es anaer\u00f3bicas e na aus\u00eancia de luz solar.<\/p>\n<p>Por exemplo, enquanto as piretrinas s\u00e3o rapidamente degradadas no solo pela atividade microbiana e fot\u00f3lise, elas sofrem degrada\u00e7\u00e3o reduzida em sedimentos anaer\u00f3bicos na aus\u00eancia de luz e podem apresentar um risco toxicol\u00f3gico para organismos aqu\u00e1ticos.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cOs biopesticidas deixam poucos ou nenhuns res\u00edduos nocivos\u201d<\/strong><br \/>\nDe acordo com os regulamentos da EPA, os biopesticidas podem estar sujeitos a isen\u00e7\u00f5es de n\u00edveis de toler\u00e2ncia residual. Mas quando cepas espec\u00edficas s\u00e3o selecionadas por sua atividade biopesticida e s\u00e3o aplicadas em taxas suficientes para atingir os n\u00edveis de efeito desejados, isso pode aumentar as preocupa\u00e7\u00f5es ecol\u00f3gicas e de sa\u00fade p\u00fablica.<\/p>\n<p>Quanto aos produtos convencionais de prote\u00e7\u00e3o de cultivos, a diferencia\u00e7\u00e3o entre risco e perigo \u00e9 necess\u00e1ria: um Perigo \u00e9 algo que tem o potencial de causar dano, enquanto um Risco \u00e9 a chance de que o perigo cause dano.
