O cacau \u00e9 a principal fonte de renda para mais de dois milh\u00f5es de pequenos agricultores e 10 milh\u00f5es de pessoas na \u00c1frica Ocidental e Central. Nenhum produto ou servi\u00e7o comercial atualmente fornece dados de diagn\u00f3stico e condi\u00e7\u00e3o do cacau em um n\u00edvel localizado para planta\u00e7\u00f5es individuais para auxiliar na mitiga\u00e7\u00e3o direcionada da doen\u00e7a. Estrat\u00e9gias abrangentes para controlar e prevenir CSSV na regi\u00e3o africana s\u00e3o, portanto, urgentemente necess\u00e1rias e dependem de colabora\u00e7\u00e3o internacional eficaz.<\/p>\n<p>Este projeto, a ser executado em Gana, visa desenvolver e comercializar uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o para restringir a propaga\u00e7\u00e3o de doen\u00e7as e melhorar as abordagens integradas gerais para combater as perdas causadas pelo CSSV.<em>. <\/em>A tecnologia de plataforma da Rail Vision (ARIES), baseada em modelos matem\u00e1ticos e ferramentas de software para an\u00e1lise de dados de imagens de sat\u00e9lite e drones, visa identificar as \u00e1reas j\u00e1 infectadas com CSSV ou regi\u00f5es com alto risco de serem infectadas no futuro. Outros membros do cons\u00f3rcio trar\u00e3o o conhecimento t\u00e9cnico e comercial e as capacidades necess\u00e1rias para usar os dados coletados por drones e sat\u00e9lites para gerenciar e controlar a situa\u00e7\u00e3o da doen\u00e7a. Testes em Gana j\u00e1 mostraram controle bem-sucedido das cochonilhas que espalham a doen\u00e7a usando um produto biol\u00f3gico, Eradicoat, da Certis Europe. Eles ser\u00e3o estendidos ainda mais \u00e0 medida que for poss\u00edvel atingir com mais precis\u00e3o as \u00e1reas a serem gerenciadas.<\/p>\n<p>Por meio deste projeto, o cons\u00f3rcio desenvolver\u00e1 uma plataforma que pode prever precisamente a localiza\u00e7\u00e3o exata, o status infeccioso atual, o risco futuro das \u00e1rvores de cacau serem afetadas pelo CSSV e dados sobre as condi\u00e7\u00f5es da planta\u00e7\u00e3o para mitigar o risco. Isso ser\u00e1 alcan\u00e7ado pela incorpora\u00e7\u00e3o dos principais fatores de cobertura do dossel, diversidade de plantas, altura da \u00e1rvore, n\u00edvel de clorofila e densidade da \u00e1rvore.
