As importa\u00e7\u00f5es de ingredientes ativos, particularmente de herbicidas e inseticidas, devem crescer devido ao aumento populacional, maior foco na seguran\u00e7a alimentar e maior n\u00famero de pragas.<\/p>\n<p>Biopesticidas, como em muitas economias agr\u00edcolas desenvolvidas, est\u00e3o em est\u00e1gio inicial na \u00c1frica do Sul e apresentam crescimento inexplorado em programas de Manejo Integrado de Pragas. Mercados de exporta\u00e7\u00e3o importantes, principalmente a Europa, exigem padr\u00f5es rigorosos de limite m\u00e1ximo de res\u00edduos (MRL), o que aumentou o burburinho e a ado\u00e7\u00e3o de biossolu\u00e7\u00f5es. Os mercados locais tamb\u00e9m ganharam relev\u00e2ncia, e os supermercados est\u00e3o impulsionando o esfor\u00e7o para reduzir res\u00edduos no pa\u00eds, disse uma fonte.<\/p>\n<p>Os produtos biol\u00f3gicos ultrapassaram facilmente o crescimento dos pesticidas convencionais nos \u00faltimos anos e espera-se que essa tend\u00eancia continue, de acordo com a <a href=\"https:\/\/sabo.org.za\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Organiza\u00e7\u00e3o Sul-Africana de Bioprodutos (SABO)<\/a>. Para culturas especiais de alto valor \u2014 uvas, pome, frutas c\u00edtricas e frutas de caro\u00e7o \u2014 elas s\u00e3o especialmente cr\u00edticas. \u201cH\u00e1 um aumento gradual no uso de solu\u00e7\u00f5es biol\u00f3gicas, especialmente por produtores de exporta\u00e7\u00e3o, embora a aplica\u00e7\u00e3o da qu\u00edmica convencional ainda desempenhe um papel significativo na produ\u00e7\u00e3o de culturas\u201d, Jaco Marais, presidente da SABO, conta <em>Agroneg\u00f3cio Global<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Ele explica que a expans\u00e3o inclui biocontroles, bioestimulantes e biofertilizantes, e que n\u00e3o s\u00e3o apenas os limites de res\u00edduos que impulsionam o mercado, mas tamb\u00e9m o controle da resist\u00eancia de pragas e a tend\u00eancia para melhor qualidade e quantidade na produ\u00e7\u00e3o de alimentos, garantindo um ambiente sustent\u00e1vel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAinda estamos nas fases iniciais de uma abordagem integrada, com limita\u00e7\u00f5es pr\u00e1ticas somente para biol\u00f3gicos\u201d, diz Marais. \u201cNo entanto, nos pr\u00f3ximos cinco a sete anos, uma mudan\u00e7a significativa no modus operandi pode ocorrer com crescimento exponencial no uso e integra\u00e7\u00e3o de produtos biol\u00f3gicos como parte das pr\u00e1ticas de cultivo. O futuro \u00e9 muito positivo para a ind\u00fastria biol\u00f3gica.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A altera\u00e7\u00e3o dos LMR \u00e9 um problema t\u00e3o grande que a CropLife \u00c1frica do Sul investiu este ano em\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.agri-intel.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AgriIntel<\/a>, um banco de dados abrangente que ajuda os agricultores a encontrar produtos fitofarmac\u00eauticos registrados e adequados, bem como \u201cdados de LMR para cada cultura, pesticida e destino de exporta\u00e7\u00e3o, incluindo requisitos do varejista\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Tomando a UE como exemplo, o LMR para iprodiona em uvas costumava ser 20 mg\/kg. O novo limite \u00e9 0,1 mg\/kg. Se os produtores n\u00e3o ajustarem seus programas de prote\u00e7\u00e3o de cultivos adequadamente, eles n\u00e3o poder\u00e3o exportar seus produtos frescos. Outro exemplo \u00e9 o LMR de \u00f3xido de fenbutatina em frutas c\u00edtricas, que mudou de 5 mg\/kg para 0,01 mg\/kg. Tanto uvas quanto frutas c\u00edtricas contribuem para as maiores exporta\u00e7\u00f5es agr\u00edcolas da \u00c1frica do Sul em valor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEmbora essas flutua\u00e7\u00f5es sejam not\u00e1veis, a mudan\u00e7a pode \u00e0s vezes ser m\u00ednima, mas grande o suficiente para que o produto seja rejeitado, como no caso do LMR para penconazol em pom\u00f3ideas, que mudou de 0,2 mg\/kg para 0,15 mg\/kg\u201d, de acordo com a CropLife South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Outra oportunidade onde os produtos biol\u00f3gicos podem desempenhar um papel \u00e9 a seguran\u00e7a alimentar: os agricultores sul-africanos est\u00e3o a recorrer aos biopesticidas como uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o para a praga da lagarta-do-cartucho do milho.<em>Spodoptera frugiperda<\/em>), que causou bilh\u00f5es de d\u00f3lares em danos a culturas b\u00e1sicas como milho, cana-de-a\u00e7\u00facar, sorgo e outras em 12 pa\u00edses africanos, incluindo a \u00c1frica do Sul.<\/p>\n<p>O <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cabi.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Centro Internacional de Bioci\u00eancias Agr\u00edcolas<\/a>, conhecida como CABI, est\u00e1 fortalecendo sistemas fitossanit\u00e1rios em toda a \u00c1frica e tamb\u00e9m identificando e validando solu\u00e7\u00f5es t\u00e9cnicas de baixo risco contra a lagarta-do-cartucho, como controle biol\u00f3gico usando inimigos naturais da praga, biopesticidas, biorracionais e outras solu\u00e7\u00f5es de controle cultural de baixo custo.<\/p>\n<p>Em um estudo publicado, o CABI analisou 50 ingredientes ativos (IA) de biopesticida registrados em um ou mais dos 30 pa\u00edses do estudo para o manejo da lagarta-do-cartucho.
