De acordo com o pesquisador da Universidade de Wisconsin, Vince Davis, ervas daninhas resistentes a herbicidas custam aos agricultores dos EUA $2 bilh\u00f5es por ano.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>AR<\/strong><strong>Solu\u00e7\u00e3o confi\u00e1vel para um novo problema\u00a0 <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Em 2017, a Belchim USA lan\u00e7ou uma parceria com v\u00e1rias universidades l\u00edderes nos EUA para testar o herbicida de contato seletivo piridato contra v\u00e1rias cepas de ervas daninhas resistentes a herbicidas. Embora o piridato em si j\u00e1 exista h\u00e1 anos, os pesquisadores est\u00e3o apenas agora explorando novos usos e op\u00e7\u00f5es de aplica\u00e7\u00e3o para esse modo de a\u00e7\u00e3o subutilizado.<\/p>\n<p>Em testes de campo de milho, pesquisadores combinaram piridato em uma mistura de tanque com herbicidas amplamente usados como glifosato, atrazina e mesotriona e aplicaram a mistura resultante para testar o controle de ervas daninhas p\u00f3s-emergentes. Quando essas solu\u00e7\u00f5es de piridato foram aplicadas em campos de milho, os pesquisadores observaram melhorias significativas no controle de ervas daninhas de folhas largas \u2014 at\u00e9 29% em alguns casos \u2014 sem danos ao milho. Em um teste de campo conduzido pela Universidade de Illinois, tratar o amaranto Palmer resistente ao glifosato com uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o de mistura de tanque de glifosato, mesotriona, atrazina e piridato rendeu controle de ervas daninhas 99% 14 dias ap\u00f3s a aplica\u00e7\u00e3o. Enquanto em outro teste de campo liderado pela Universidade Estadual de Iowa, uma mistura de tanque de piridato, mesotriona e glifosato aplicada ao waterhemp comum resistente ao HPPD resultou em controle de ervas daninhas 95% apenas nove dias ap\u00f3s a aplica\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Piridato em A\u00e7\u00e3o<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>O piridato funciona bloqueando o processo do fotossistema II de uma erva daninha, desencadeando a libera\u00e7\u00e3o de formas t\u00f3xicas de oxig\u00eanio e causando r\u00e1pida degrada\u00e7\u00e3o da parede celular. Como ele usa um modo de a\u00e7\u00e3o subutilizado, h\u00e1 m\u00faltiplas variedades de combina\u00e7\u00f5es que produzem um efeito sin\u00e9rgico, aumentando o controle de ervas daninhas.<\/p>\n<p>Um exemplo \u00e9 a combina\u00e7\u00e3o com herbicidas inibidores de HPPD, como mesotriona, que reduz a capacidade de uma erva daninha de processar o oxig\u00eanio t\u00f3xico. Quando combinado com piridato, que aumenta a quantidade de oxig\u00eanio t\u00f3xico produzido dentro da erva daninha, a combina\u00e7\u00e3o de herbicidas causa a morte r\u00e1pida da erva daninha.<\/p>\n<p>Outra solu\u00e7\u00e3o eficaz combina atrazina, outro inibidor do fotossistema II, com piridato. Embora ambos sejam da mesma classe de qu\u00edmica, eles funcionam de maneiras diferentes, com o herbicida sist\u00eamico, atrazina, atingindo a erva daninha atrav\u00e9s das ra\u00edzes e o herbicida de contato, piridato, atingindo a erva daninha atrav\u00e9s de suas folhas.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Mais nem sempre \u00e9 melhor<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\u00c0 medida que mais produtores buscam op\u00e7\u00f5es sustent\u00e1veis de longo prazo que ainda forne\u00e7am forte controle de ervas daninhas, eles percebem que usar mais do mesmo geralmente n\u00e3o faz diferen\u00e7a. Al\u00e9m disso, usar mais dos produtos qu\u00edmicos atuais geralmente n\u00e3o \u00e9 permitido devido a restri\u00e7\u00f5es locais ou estaduais.
