Tenho sua aten\u00e7\u00e3o? \u00d3timo, continue lendo\u2026 mas deixe-me dizer isso primeiro. A cada poucos editoriais, me pego voltando aos meus primeiros dias aqui na <em>Vida de colheita<\/em> revista para ajudar a ilustrar um ponto, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.croplife.com\/editorial\/is-it-time-to-ditch-the-term-crop-protection\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">escreve o editor Paul Schrimpf em <em>Vida de colheita<\/em><\/a>. Este \u00e9 realmente um desses momentos, ent\u00e3o tenha paci\u00eancia comigo.<\/p>\n<p>Quando comecei como editor de n\u00edvel m\u00e9dio, praticamente sem experi\u00eancia em agricultura, h\u00e1 cerca de 20 anos, um rito de passagem para novatos era ir ao Beltway Circuit para visitar nossas ilustres associa\u00e7\u00f5es comerciais. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.croplifeamerica.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CropLife Am\u00e9rica<\/a> foi uma das primeiras paradas ao longo do caminho para uma imers\u00e3o em quest\u00f5es e mensagens.<\/p>\n<p>Naquela \u00e9poca, a associa\u00e7\u00e3o estava no quarto ano de uma mudan\u00e7a de nome. Em 1994, a National Agricultural Chemical Association se tornou a American Crop Protection Association (ACPA). A ind\u00fastria estava sofrendo sob o peso de uma guerra p\u00fablica e da m\u00eddia contra pesticidas, e a melhor maneira de mudar a conversa era reformular os produtos de uma forma que destacasse seus benef\u00edcios.<\/p>\n<p>Lembro-me de assistir a apresenta\u00e7\u00f5es e slideshows espantado com a quantidade de pesquisa e trabalho que deve ter sido feito para desenvolver a estrat\u00e9gia. Chris Klose, meu \u201cguia tur\u00edstico\u201d e porta-voz da ACPA durante aqueles anos, foi um defensor impressionante e testado em batalha.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProte\u00e7\u00e3o de cultivos\u201d foi rapidamente adotada pela ind\u00fastria como a maneira correta de abordar os ingredientes ativos que vendemos e usamos. E, em geral, ainda \u00e9 o termo mais usado em todo o canal de produ\u00e7\u00e3o de cultivos.<\/p>\n<p>Mas, simultaneamente, uma nova ferramenta de informa\u00e7\u00e3o chamada \u201cInternet\u201d surgiu e come\u00e7ou a mudar a maneira como os cidad\u00e3os pesquisam, aprendem novas informa\u00e7\u00f5es e interagem uns com os outros. O momento para defender um novo termo e entregar mensagens ao p\u00fablico n\u00e3o poderia ser melhor, certo?<\/p>\n<p>Bem, talvez n\u00e3o. Durante minha entrevista com o pessoal da CropLife America (antiga ACPA) para este <a href=\"https:\/\/www.croplife.com\/management\/keeping-it-simple-how-croplife-america-is-sending-a-clear-message-for-the-pesticide-industry\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">artigo<\/a>, nossa discuss\u00e3o finalmente girou para atitudes do consumidor, confian\u00e7a e conhecimento da ind\u00fastria.
