Isso \u00e9 o equivalente a remover 220 milh\u00f5es de toneladas de di\u00f3xido de carbono, ou 50 milh\u00f5es de carros das ruas a cada ano\u201d, diz Litle.<\/p>\n<p>Conhecemos a Sound Agriculture pela primeira vez no evento Commodity Classic no Texas, no final de fevereiro \u2014 poucos dias antes da pandemia ser declarada. Como um dos primeiros investidores da empresa por meio da Syngenta Ventures, a estatal chinesa Syngenta teve a oportunidade de testemunhar a ci\u00eancia e o desenvolvimento do produto nos \u00faltimos quatro anos, diz Litle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIsso \u00e9 importante porque houve um pouco de \u00f3leo de cobra no passado e ceticismo em torno do que realmente funciona\u201d, ele reconhece. \u201cEles tamb\u00e9m t\u00eam forte interesse em se mover mais para o espa\u00e7o de efici\u00eancia de nutrientes\u201d, observando a aquisi\u00e7\u00e3o da empresa l\u00edder em sa\u00fade vegetal Valagro pela Syngenta em outubro.<\/p>\n<p>No pipeline est\u00e1 um produto similar para soja, que deve ser lan\u00e7ado em seguida, assim como para trigo, algod\u00e3o, arroz e canola. Outro composto que est\u00e1 sendo testado melhora o processo de fotoss\u00edntese para aumentar a efici\u00eancia e os rendimentos das plantas.<\/p>\n<p>De forma mais ampla, a miss\u00e3o da empresa se concentra em promover mudan\u00e7as na sustentabilidade, no clima e no impacto na qualidade da \u00e1gua nos maiores emissores de gases de efeito estufa do mundo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u00c9 geralmente sabido que aplicamos 30% mais nitrog\u00eanio do que precisamos para as planta\u00e7\u00f5es em linha, e que o nitrog\u00eanio ou se volatiliza no ar e se torna \u00f3xido nitroso, que \u00e9 300 vezes mais potente como g\u00e1s de efeito estufa do que o di\u00f3xido de carbono. Ou, ele vaza para os cursos d\u2019\u00e1gua e causa problemas, e cada vez mais haver\u00e1 a\u00e7\u00e3o sobre isso\u201d, explica Litle. \u201cOs fazendeiros n\u00e3o querem fazer isso com as comunidades.
