E isso foi depois de uma seca em 2018. A mudan\u00e7a clim\u00e1tica est\u00e1, sem d\u00favida, acelerando o caos das mon\u00e7\u00f5es na \u00cdndia; e n\u00e3o \u00e9 de se admirar que ativistas indianos como Licypriya Kangujam estejam seguindo Greta Thunberg, da Su\u00e9cia, para alertar sobre a emerg\u00eancia clim\u00e1tica.<\/p>\n<p>As mon\u00e7\u00f5es excessivas e err\u00e1ticas foram mais destrutivas para o setor agr\u00edcola. Em ambos os anos, as inunda\u00e7\u00f5es danificaram as planta\u00e7\u00f5es em p\u00e9. O excesso de chuvas durante o est\u00e1gio de crescimento das planta\u00e7\u00f5es reduziu seu tamanho em alguns lugares. A varia\u00e7\u00e3o de temperatura aumentou os ataques de pragas, destruindo a produ\u00e7\u00e3o. E a falta de instala\u00e7\u00f5es de armazenamento e secagem apodreceu a colheita perec\u00edvel que tinha alto teor de umidade.<\/p>\n<p>Ambos os anos viram Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, etc. e culturas como soja, cebola, urad, cana-de-a\u00e7\u00facar, batata, algod\u00e3o, arroz, tur e amendoim sofrerem. Enquanto a \u00e1rea cultivada aumentou na \u00cdndia, chuvas excessivas e err\u00e1ticas arruinaram 32 lakh hectares de terras agr\u00edcolas em 2020, e uma \u00e1rea ainda maior em 2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c9 fundamental popularizar tecnologias e processos inovadores na \u00cdndia que possam ajudar na produ\u00e7\u00e3o agr\u00edcola, na subsist\u00eancia dos agricultores e na seguran\u00e7a alimentar, apesar das chuvas irregulares e excessivas, uma tend\u00eancia clim\u00e1tica que pode se repetir no futuro.<\/p>\n<p>O Dia Mundial da Alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o de 2020 da FAO enfatizou mudan\u00e7as baseadas em inova\u00e7\u00e3o para uma agricultura resiliente ao clima, sugerindo que esta \u00e9 uma \u00e1rea de foco para as partes interessadas globais. Algumas tecnologias e processos inovadores j\u00e1 est\u00e3o demonstrando valor, colocando-os bem para serem ampliados e replicados.
