E no cerne da situa\u00e7\u00e3o est\u00e1 uma troca complexa entre a \u00e1rvore e o <em>CLas (Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus)<\/em> bact\u00e9ria.<\/p>\n<p>Em um novo artigo escrito por pesquisadores da Universidade da Fl\u00f3rida e publicado na revista <a href=\"https:\/\/academic.oup.com\/plphys\/article\/190\/2\/1090\/6650116?login=false\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Patologia Vegetal<\/em><\/a>, descobertas de novas maneiras pelas quais as bact\u00e9rias interagem com as defesas naturais de uma \u00e1rvore c\u00edtrica s\u00e3o destacadas. As descobertas lan\u00e7am luz sobre a complexidade do caminho da doen\u00e7a dentro da \u00e1rvore e o que isso significa para cientistas que buscam mitigar seu impacto mortal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/crec.ifas.ufl.edu\/people\/faculty\/amit-levy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amit Levy<\/a>, Professor Assistente de Patologia Vegetal da UF\/IFAS e pesquisadora de p\u00f3s-doutorado Chiara Bernardini descobriu como as bact\u00e9rias e a \u00e1rvore c\u00edtrica se envolvem em um relacionamento reacion\u00e1rio de \u201cvai e vem\u201d. Ele e outros mostraram que, uma vez infectados com <em>CLas<\/em> bact\u00e9ria, o sistema de defesa da \u00e1rvore come\u00e7a a gerar calose no floema, um material que essencialmente \u201cobstrui\u201d o floema e gera algo chamado \u201cesp\u00e9cies reativas de oxig\u00eanio\u201d ou ROS.<\/p>\n<p>Nas plantas, o ROS est\u00e1 envolvido nos sistemas de defesa da planta e impacta a toler\u00e2ncia da planta a v\u00e1rios tipos de estresse. A presen\u00e7a de um pat\u00f3geno como <em>CLas<\/em> pode aumentar a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de ROS com um efeito negativo e, eventualmente, causar a morte celular.<\/p>\n<p><a
