O produto de uso final \u00e9 registrado para controle pr\u00e9 e p\u00f3s-emerg\u00eancia inicial de gram\u00edneas, juncos e ervas daninhas de folhas largas em arroz semeado em \u00e1gua somente na Calif\u00f3rnia. Notavelmente, ele pode ajudar a controlar capim-arroz e capim-d&#039;\u00e1gua, duas esp\u00e9cies de ervas daninhas problem\u00e1ticas para produtores de arroz no estado. Os produtores de arroz nesta \u00e1rea podem usar o piraclonilo em rota\u00e7\u00e3o com outros herbicidas para reduzir a potencial dissemina\u00e7\u00e3o da resist\u00eancia a herbicidas.<\/p>\n<h2>Avalia\u00e7\u00f5es de risco ecol\u00f3gico e \u00e0 sa\u00fade humana da EPA<\/h2>\n<p>Antes de emitir esta decis\u00e3o de registro, a EPA avaliou se as exposi\u00e7\u00f5es a esses produtos causariam efeitos adversos irracionais \u00e0 sa\u00fade humana e ao meio ambiente, conforme exigido pela Lei Federal de Inseticidas, Fungicidas e Rodenticidas (FIFRA). A determina\u00e7\u00e3o final de efeitos da EPA descobriu que o piraclonilo provavelmente afetar\u00e1 adversamente (LAA) 12 esp\u00e9cies listadas e 10 habitats cr\u00edticos.<\/p>\n<p>Uma determina\u00e7\u00e3o LAA significa que a EPA espera razoavelmente que pelo menos um animal ou planta individual, entre uma variedade de esp\u00e9cies listadas, possa ser exposto ao piraclonilo em um n\u00edvel suficiente para ter um efeito adverso. Como resultado, geralmente h\u00e1 um alto n\u00famero de determina\u00e7\u00f5es LAA. Uma determina\u00e7\u00e3o LAA, no entanto, n\u00e3o significa necessariamente que um pesticida esteja colocando uma esp\u00e9cie em risco.<\/p>\n<p>A EPA refinou ainda mais sua an\u00e1lise para as esp\u00e9cies e habitats cr\u00edticos onde fez determina\u00e7\u00f5es LAA para prever a probabilidade de que o uso de pyraclonil poderia levar a uma descoberta futura de perigo para certas esp\u00e9cies listadas ou descoberta de modifica\u00e7\u00e3o adversa para habitats cr\u00edticos. A EPA n\u00e3o previu nenhuma probabilidade de modifica\u00e7\u00e3o adversa para habitats cr\u00edticos.<\/p>\n<h2>Mitiga\u00e7\u00f5es<\/h2>\n<p>Com base nessas descobertas, o requerente adicionou as seguintes atenua\u00e7\u00f5es \u00e0 sua rotulagem:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Um per\u00edodo de reten\u00e7\u00e3o de \u00e1gua em arrozais tratados ap\u00f3s a aplica\u00e7\u00e3o de piraclonil para minimizar o movimento de piraclonil para fora do local, para \u00e1reas n\u00e3o-alvo nas quais vivem esp\u00e9cies listadas; e<\/li>\n<li>Pr\u00e1ticas para 1) evitar a infiltra\u00e7\u00e3o de \u00e1gua de arrozais tratados atrav\u00e9s de bermas e diques, e 2) minimizar a pulveriza\u00e7\u00e3o excessiva de gr\u00e2nulos de piraclonil em bermas e diques.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>O requerente tamb\u00e9m reviu a rotulagem do produto para incluir um requisito de que os utilizadores verifiquem a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epa.gov\/endangered-species\/bulletins-live-two-view-bulletins\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Boletins Ao Vivo Dois!<\/a> site para identificar se h\u00e1 \u00e1reas onde o pesticida n\u00e3o pode ser usado. Atualmente, n\u00e3o h\u00e1 restri\u00e7\u00f5es de usu\u00e1rios geograficamente espec\u00edficas, no entanto, os Servi\u00e7os podem determinar que essas mitiga\u00e7\u00f5es s\u00e3o necess\u00e1rias durante sua revis\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>Com essas mitiga\u00e7\u00f5es em vigor, a avalia\u00e7\u00e3o biol\u00f3gica final da EPA prev\u00ea que o uso de piraclonil n\u00e3o resultar\u00e1 em efeitos adversos irracionais a organismos n\u00e3o-alvo ou apresentar\u00e1 probabilidade de risco para essas esp\u00e9cies.<\/p>\n<h2>Pr\u00f3ximos passos<\/h2>\n<p>Como a avalia\u00e7\u00e3o biol\u00f3gica final da EPA descobriu que o piraclonilo provavelmente afetar\u00e1 negativamente algumas esp\u00e9cies listadas e habitats cr\u00edticos, a EPA iniciou uma consulta formal e compartilhou suas descobertas com os Servi\u00e7os.<\/p>\n<p>Durante a consulta formal, os Servi\u00e7os usam as informa\u00e7\u00f5es na avalia\u00e7\u00e3o biol\u00f3gica final da EPA (ou seja, a determina\u00e7\u00e3o dos efeitos finais, previs\u00f5es da probabilidade de risco\/modifica\u00e7\u00e3o adversa e as mitiga\u00e7\u00f5es da EPA para evitar risco e minimizar a captura) para informar suas opini\u00f5es biol\u00f3gicas.
