A primeira, eu acho, pode ser \u00f3bvia para todos, mas \u00e9 como a mudan\u00e7a clim\u00e1tica est\u00e1 influenciando a maneira como os produtores est\u00e3o cultivando.<\/p>\n<p>As mudan\u00e7as clim\u00e1ticas tamb\u00e9m t\u00eam um grande impacto em nossas pr\u00f3prias atividades. Estamos realizando testes em todos os produtos, e esta temporada tem sido meio extraordin\u00e1ria. Na verdade, j\u00e1 faz alguns anos que somos extraordin\u00e1rios em termos de clima, o que est\u00e1 se tornando o novo normal. Para dar exemplos, estamos realizando testes em batata e uvas na Europa, nos EUA e soja na Am\u00e9rica Latina.<\/p>\n<p>Para nossos testes, tivemos alguns lugares com muita press\u00e3o de doen\u00e7as, vinda de uma combina\u00e7\u00e3o de secas, altas temperaturas, seguidas por chuvas excessivas. H\u00e1 muita umidade aumentando no momento, e por causa disso, vimos uma press\u00e3o de doen\u00e7as muito pesada, especialmente em uvas e batatas na B\u00e9lgica. A grande mudan\u00e7a no clima est\u00e1 afetando os agricultores e tamb\u00e9m empresas como n\u00f3s que desenvolvem produtos.<\/p>\n<p>A segunda li\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 que vimos muita resist\u00eancia e impactos regulat\u00f3rios na caixa de ferramentas com que os agricultores t\u00eam que trabalhar. Para dar um exemplo sobre a resist\u00eancia, temos feito testes na Calif\u00f3rnia em uvas. Ao fazer esses testes, comparamos nossos resultados com padr\u00f5es qu\u00edmicos. Nosso parceiro de escolha e os produtores ficaram surpresos ao ver que o programa qu\u00edmico n\u00e3o estava funcionando como esperado.<\/p>\n<p>Isso foi t\u00e3o surpreendente porque os produtos qu\u00edmicos t\u00eam a reputa\u00e7\u00e3o de sempre ter um desempenho muito bom em todas as situa\u00e7\u00f5es. Agora, os dados est\u00e3o mostrando que, em alguns casos, esses produtos qu\u00edmicos n\u00e3o est\u00e3o mais tendo um desempenho muito bom.<\/p>\n<p>Essa \u00e9 uma grande preocupa\u00e7\u00e3o para produtores ao redor do mundo. Claro, h\u00e1 diferen\u00e7as entre as culturas cultivadas em diferentes regi\u00f5es, mas a quest\u00e3o da resist\u00eancia est\u00e1 definitivamente l\u00e1, n\u00e3o apenas para doen\u00e7as, mas tamb\u00e9m para ervas daninhas e insetos.<\/p>\n<p>Uma terceira li\u00e7\u00e3o s\u00e3o os efeitos do ambiente regulat\u00f3rio. Estamos realizando testes para batata e uvas na Europa e verificamos com os produtores. H\u00e1 uma grande press\u00e3o na Europa para que os produtores evitem usar produtos qu\u00edmicos importantes que foram proibidos. Por causa do aumento de doen\u00e7as decorrentes do impacto do clima, os agricultores ficam sem muitas op\u00e7\u00f5es.<\/p>\n<p>Eles est\u00e3o colocando cada vez mais enxofre nos campos, o que nem sempre \u00e9 uma boa resposta, dependendo das suas culturas em rota\u00e7\u00e3o. Acho que os fazendeiros veem que sua caixa de ferramentas est\u00e1 realmente diminuindo, e \u00e9 por isso que eles precisam de novas solu\u00e7\u00f5es para ajudar a substituir ou pelo menos compensar os produtos qu\u00edmicos que mostram resist\u00eancia ou est\u00e3o sendo banidos.<\/p>\n<p>E acho um tanto ir\u00f4nico que, ao mesmo tempo em que a Bayer est\u00e1 sendo responsabilizada por 1,5 bilh\u00e3o no processo da Monsanto pelo Roundup, a Europa decide reaprovar o glifosato por mais dez anos.
