Junto com o amianto crisotila qu\u00edmico industrial, os pesticidas endosulfan e compostos de tributil estanho ser\u00e3o o t\u00f3pico de discuss\u00e3o na pr\u00f3xima semana na Quarta Reuni\u00e3o da Confer\u00eancia das Partes da Conven\u00e7\u00e3o de Roterd\u00e3 (COP 4) em Roma, It\u00e1lia, quando ministros e autoridades de mais de 120 governos se reunir\u00e3o para decidir se devem adicionar essas subst\u00e2ncias a uma lista de vigil\u00e2ncia comercial que j\u00e1 cont\u00e9m 39 subst\u00e2ncias perigosas. Os produtos qu\u00edmicos inclu\u00eddos na Consentimento pr\u00e9vio informado<\/a> (PIC) est\u00e3o sujeitas ao Procedimento de Consentimento Pr\u00e9vio Informado da Conven\u00e7\u00e3o de Roterd\u00e3, um tratado internacional criado para garantir que produtos qu\u00edmicos perigosos n\u00e3o coloquem em risco a sa\u00fade humana e o meio ambiente.<\/p>\n

A inclus\u00e3o de um produto qu\u00edmico na lista PIC n\u00e3o \u00e9 uma recomenda\u00e7\u00e3o global para bani-lo ou restringir severamente seu uso; o procedimento PIC apenas d\u00e1 aos pa\u00edses em desenvolvimento a capacidade de decidir se devem excluir produtos qu\u00edmicos que eles n\u00e3o podem gerenciar com seguran\u00e7a.
