A agricultura contribui com 22% das emiss\u00f5es globais de gases de efeito estufa, de acordo com o Painel Intergovernamental sobre Mudan\u00e7as Clim\u00e1ticas (IPCC).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEstamos em um momento crucial, em que a agricultura n\u00e3o apenas alimenta o mundo, mas tamb\u00e9m precisa liberar seu potencial para se tornar uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o para as mudan\u00e7as clim\u00e1ticas\u201d, afirma Petra Laux, Diretora de Sustentabilidade do Syngenta Group. \u201cProduzir mais alimentos e proteger o meio ambiente pode ser alcan\u00e7ado em conjunto, mas precisamos fazer com que cada hectare agr\u00edcola existente conte. Expandir para mais terras elevaria as emiss\u00f5es de gases de efeito estufa muito al\u00e9m de nossas metas globais, visto que quase 40% da massa terrestre do planeta j\u00e1 \u00e9 usada para a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de alimentos1. Tecnologia e inova\u00e7\u00e3o s\u00e3o a chave para fechar a lacuna de produtividade.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A Syngenta \u00e9 uma empresa-chave no setor de sistemas alimentares, buscando facilitar a transi\u00e7\u00e3o para um mundo de baixo carbono. De acordo com a l\u00edder global em AgTech, existem cinco solu\u00e7\u00f5es inovadoras para garantir que a agricultura fa\u00e7a parte da solu\u00e7\u00e3o clim\u00e1tica, contribuindo para a seguran\u00e7a alimentar global de um mundo de at\u00e9 10 bilh\u00f5es de pessoas at\u00e9 2050:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Revitaliza\u00e7\u00e3o de terras degradadas<\/strong> por meio de t\u00e9cnicas inovadoras de restaura\u00e7\u00e3o do solo e pr\u00e1ticas agr\u00edcolas sustent\u00e1veis.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Avan\u00e7o de variedades de culturas e m\u00e9todos de melhoramento resistentes ao clima<\/strong> que permitem que as planta\u00e7\u00f5es prosperem em condi\u00e7\u00f5es desafiadoras \u2014 exigindo menos \u00e1gua, resistindo naturalmente a pragas e doen\u00e7as e mantendo a produtividade apesar do estresse clim\u00e1tico.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Aumentar a produtividade com inova\u00e7\u00e3o, tecnologia e produtos cada vez mais baseados na natureza<\/strong>, como produtos biol\u00f3gicos, incluindo microrganismos ben\u00e9ficos e extratos de plantas.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Escalonando a agricultura de precis\u00e3o<\/strong> aplicando produtos de prote\u00e7\u00e3o de cultivos seletivamente e somente onde necess\u00e1rio para proteger as colheitas.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Promover pr\u00e1ticas regenerativas,<\/strong> incluindo culturas de cobertura, cultivo m\u00ednimo e manejo de mat\u00e9ria org\u00e2nica para melhorar a sa\u00fade do solo, aumentar o sequestro de carbono e melhorar a produtividade.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>A Organiza\u00e7\u00e3o das Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas para a Alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o e a Agricultura (FAO) est\u00e1 preparando um novo relat\u00f3rio de roteiro a ser divulgado na COP30. As inova\u00e7\u00f5es desempenhar\u00e3o um papel importante na consecu\u00e7\u00e3o de seus objetivos. Um estudo da Deloitte de novembro de 20242 apontou que 50% da melhoria necess\u00e1ria no fornecimento de alimentos e 40% das calorias adicionais necess\u00e1rias para alimentar o mundo devem ser alcan\u00e7adas por meio de inova\u00e7\u00e3o acelerada, tecnologia e melhorias na produtividade. Outros fatores contribuintes incluem a redu\u00e7\u00e3o de emiss\u00f5es; a prote\u00e7\u00e3o e a restaura\u00e7\u00e3o do capital natural (21%); a melhoria do capital natural (19%); o fortalecimento da circularidade e a orienta\u00e7\u00e3o das escolhas do consumidor (6%); e a promo\u00e7\u00e3o de mudan\u00e7as alimentares (4%).<\/p>\n<p>A atual estagna\u00e7\u00e3o da produtividade agr\u00edcola global (GAP) foi destacada no relat\u00f3rio3 da Virginia Tech, emitido em setembro de 2025, mostrando que a produtividade cresceu apenas 0,76% globalmente em 2025, enquanto a demanda por produtos agr\u00edcolas deve crescer mais de 1% anualmente at\u00e9 2031. Para atingir n\u00edveis de produ\u00e7\u00e3o sustent\u00e1veis que possam alimentar o planeta, o crescimento da produtividade deve acelerar para uma m\u00e9dia de 2% por ano entre 2024 e 2050.<\/p>\n<p>Como parte das Prioridades de Sustentabilidade da Syngenta, lan\u00e7adas em 2024, a empresa visa viabilizar a agricultura regenerativa em milh\u00f5es de hectares de terras em todo o mundo. No Brasil, por meio do programa REVERTE\u00ae, a empresa visa a recupera\u00e7\u00e3o de 1 milh\u00e3o de hectares de terras degradadas. Uma parcela significativa do trabalho est\u00e1 no bioma Cerrado, onde a Syngenta trabalha em conjunto com a The Nature Conservancy. O objetivo da iniciativa \u00e9 tornar a restaura\u00e7\u00e3o de terras degradadas a op\u00e7\u00e3o rent\u00e1vel buscada pelos agricultores no Brasil para expandir sua produ\u00e7\u00e3o, em vez de desmatar a vegeta\u00e7\u00e3o nativa.<\/p>\n<p>A Syngenta lan\u00e7ou recentemente um projeto de restaura\u00e7\u00e3o semelhante no Paraguai para apoiar produtores do Chaco e da regi\u00e3o oriental na ado\u00e7\u00e3o de pr\u00e1ticas regenerativas.<\/p>\n<p>Na COP30, em 11 de novembro de 2025, a Syngenta far\u00e1 parceria com a The Economist para sediar um painel de discuss\u00e3o com especialistas seniores, &quot;Agricultura para o Futuro: Aumentando a Produtividade Agr\u00edcola e Protegendo o Planeta&quot;.
