Todos os agricultores de vegetais (100 por cento) usaram ureia, enquanto 98,7 por cento e 96 por cento usaram TSP e MP, respectivamente.<\/p>\n<p>O Programa Nacional de Fortalecimento da Capacidade da Pol\u00edtica Alimentar (NFPCSP), com o apoio da Uni\u00e3o Europeia e da USAID, conduziu o estudo intitulado &quot;Efeitos do uso de produtos qu\u00edmicos e horm\u00f4nios no cultivo e comercializa\u00e7\u00e3o de vegetais e banana&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>O pesquisador principal do estudo, Prof. Mohammad Hossain Bhuiyan e Prof. M Sekender Ali, ambos do Departamento de Extens\u00e3o Agr\u00edcola e Sistema de Informa\u00e7\u00e3o da Universidade Agr\u00edcola Sher-e-Bangla, e Mohammad Mainuddin Molla do Instituto de Pesquisa Agr\u00edcola de Bangladesh (BARI), realizaram o estudo em conjunto com o apoio do NFPCSP.<\/p>\n<p>O estudo foi conduzido para descobrir os efeitos do uso de produtos qu\u00edmicos e horm\u00f4nios no cultivo e na comercializa\u00e7\u00e3o de vegetais e banana com base na percep\u00e7\u00e3o de agricultores, atacadistas e consumidores, e na an\u00e1lise qu\u00edmica nos laborat\u00f3rios do BARI.<\/p>\n<p>Dados foram coletados de 150 produtores de vegetais selecionados propositadamente dos distritos de Narsingdi, Gazipur e Tangail. Dados tamb\u00e9m foram coletados de atacadistas de vegetais mais pr\u00f3ximos das vilas dos produtores selecionados e 100 consumidores selecionados propositadamente da cidade de Dhaka durante o per\u00edodo de janeiro a junho de 2008.<\/p>\n<p>O estudo revela que apenas 16% e 26,7% dos agricultores usaram Zinco e Enxofre, respectivamente, para o cultivo de vegetais. A maioria (80%) deles eram grandes usu\u00e1rios de ureia, em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com 3,3% e 16,7% de usu\u00e1rios baixos e m\u00e9dios, respectivamente.<\/p>\n<p>Cerca de dois ter\u00e7os (64,7 por cento) dos agricultores eram grandes usu\u00e1rios de TSP, em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com 5,3 por cento e 28,7 por cento sendo usu\u00e1rios baixos e m\u00e9dios. Apenas 1,3 por cento dos agricultores n\u00e3o usavam TSP. A maioria (56,7 por cento) dos agricultores eram grandes usu\u00e1rios de MP, enquanto 12,7 por cento e 26,7 por cento eram usu\u00e1rios baixos e m\u00e9dios.<\/p>\n<p>O estudo mostrou que apenas 4,0 por cento dos agricultores n\u00e3o usavam MP. No caso do Zinco, impressionantes 84 por cento dos agricultores eram n\u00e3o usu\u00e1rios, em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com 9,3 por cento, 5,3 por cento e 1,3 por cento de usu\u00e1rios baixos, m\u00e9dios e altos.<\/p>\n<p>Cerca de tr\u00eas quartos (73,3%) dos agricultores n\u00e3o usavam enxofre, enquanto 14,7%, 9,3% e 2,7% eram usu\u00e1rios baixos, m\u00e9dios e altos.<\/p>\n<p>O estudo observou que, para o controle de insetos nos campos de vegetais, 72% dos agricultores usaram o inseticida Carbofuran, 67% usaram o cipermetrina, 52% usaram o dimetoato, 36% usaram o fenitrotion e 26% usaram o inseticida Lamda cialotrina.<\/p>\n<p>Quase metade (47,3%) dos produtores de vegetais eram usu\u00e1rios m\u00e9dios (usados em \u00e9pocas de ataque normal) de inseticidas para controle de insetos em planta\u00e7\u00f5es de vegetais e 39,3% usavam doses excessivas.<\/p>\n<p>Para o controle de doen\u00e7as em campos de vegetais, os agricultores usaram principalmente fungicidas. A maioria (62 por cento) dos agricultores usou Dimathomorph com fungicidas Mancozeb, 54 por cento usaram Metalaxyl M com Mancozeb, 47 por cento usaram Mancozeb e 31 por cento usaram Carbendazim. A maioria (38 por cento) dos agricultores de vegetais eram usu\u00e1rios m\u00e9dios de fungicidas para controle de doen\u00e7as, enquanto 19,4 por cento, 6,6 por cento e 36 por cento eram nenhum, baixo e alto usu\u00e1rios, respectivamente.<\/p>\n<p>Os resultados gerais do estudo revelaram que 89,3% dos agricultores usaram pesticidas qu\u00edmicos de m\u00e9dio a alto teor no cultivo de vegetais.<\/p>\n<p>Os agricultores nas \u00e1reas de estudo n\u00e3o usaram nenhum produto qu\u00edmico e horm\u00f4nio para colheita, armazenamento, transporte e marketing de vegetais. Mas eles usaram Litosen, Okozim, Alga gold, etc. como Reguladores de Crescimento Vegetal (PGR) para cultivo de vegetais.<\/p>\n<p>A maioria (58%) dos produtores de vegetais eram pequenos usu\u00e1rios de PGR, em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com 40,6% de n\u00e3o usu\u00e1rios e apenas 1,4% de usu\u00e1rios m\u00e9dios a altos.<\/p>\n<p>O estudo mencionou que 71,3 por cento dos produtores de vegetais perceberam efeito m\u00e9dio a alto de insumos qu\u00edmicos no cultivo na sa\u00fade humana. A maioria dos consumidores (71-76 por cento) percebeu que o efeito do uso excessivo de fertilizantes qu\u00edmicos e pesticidas em vegetais aumenta as doen\u00e7as humanas.<\/p>\n<p>Cerca de 22-31 por cento dos consumidores perceberam que o uso de PGR em vegetais aumenta a doen\u00e7a humana e a toxicidade alimentar, degrada o sabor e o valor alimentar e diminui a vida \u00fatil da cultura.
