Os grupos anti-biotecnologia continuaram a sua destrui\u00e7\u00e3o em 2009; no final de Maio, a Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Alem\u00e3 de Melhoristas de Plantas <\/a>(BDP) j\u00e1 relatou seis casos de destrui\u00e7\u00e3o e ocupa\u00e7\u00e3o de terrenos de pesquisa na Alemanha, de acordo com o Servi\u00e7o de Agricultura Estrangeira do Departamento de Agricultura dos EUA (USDA-FAS<\/a>) GANHO <\/a>relat\u00f3rio.<\/p>\n

Como o cultivo comercial de culturas biotecnol\u00f3gicas n\u00e3o \u00e9 permitido na Alemanha, ativistas anti-OGM est\u00e3o se concentrando em campos e instala\u00e7\u00f5es de pesquisa. No caso mais recente, um projeto de pesquisa com 274 macieiras \u2014 que estavam alojadas em uma estufa de pl\u00e1stico \u2014 foi destru\u00eddo no Instituto Federal de Pesquisa em Horticultura, o Instituto Julius Kuehn <\/a>perto de Dresden. Kupfer tamb\u00e9m destacou que a biotecnologia est\u00e1 presente na vida moderna, em diferentes vacinas, em detergentes e em muitos alimentos. Kupfer chamou o ocorrido em Dresden de "a\u00e7\u00e3o criminosa \u2014 e os perpetradores devem ser responsabilizados at\u00e9 o \u00faltimo centavo".<\/p>\n

Em 2008, o BDP relatou 26 casos de destrui\u00e7\u00e3o de campos e seis casos de ocupa\u00e7\u00e3o de campos. Um grupo de ativistas antibiotecnologia tamb\u00e9m destruiu v\u00e1rias colmeias nas proximidades de uma planta\u00e7\u00e3o de cevada biotecnol\u00f3gica da Universidade de Giessen.
