As altera\u00e7\u00f5es hoje adoptadas pela Comiss\u00e3o do Ambiente do Parlamento Europeu<\/a> n\u00e3o t\u00eam em conta as necessidades da agricultura para sustentar de forma eficiente o abastecimento alimentar europeu, afirma o Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Europeia de Prote\u00e7\u00e3o de Cultivos<\/a> (ECPA). O Comit\u00ea de Meio Ambiente votou para apoiar:<\/p>\n

O Regulamento de Autoriza\u00e7\u00e3o<\/p>\n

\u2022 Crit\u00e9rios de corte adicionais levar\u00e3o a uma proibi\u00e7\u00e3o desnecess\u00e1ria de uma s\u00e9rie de produtos que demonstraram atender a altos padr\u00f5es de seguran\u00e7a e est\u00e3o atualmente sendo usados com seguran\u00e7a por agricultores europeus.<\/p>\n

\u2022 O conceito de autoriza\u00e7\u00e3o de tr\u00eas zonas foi removido e foram introduzidas isen\u00e7\u00f5es que permitiriam aos Estados-Membros rejeitar facilmente uma autoriza\u00e7\u00e3o de pesticida concedida por outros Estados-Membros.<\/p>\n

A Diretiva de Utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o Sustent\u00e1vel<\/p>\n

\u2022 Foram aceitas emendas que levariam ao estabelecimento de metas aleat\u00f3rias e arbitr\u00e1rias de redu\u00e7\u00e3o do uso de pesticidas.<\/p>\n

Mais de um ter\u00e7o dos eurodeputados na Comiss\u00e3o do Meio Ambiente votaram contra a ado\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

\u201cEm rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 autoriza\u00e7\u00e3o, uma avalia\u00e7\u00e3o de risco adequada \u00e9 certamente necess\u00e1ria para garantir que os produtos sejam seguros para as pessoas e para o meio ambiente\u201d, disse o Diretor Geral da ECPA, Friedhelm Schmider. \u201cNo entanto, essa dire\u00e7\u00e3o regulat\u00f3ria ter\u00e1 um impacto negativo significativo na produ\u00e7\u00e3o de culturas-chave na Europa. Simplesmente porque uma subst\u00e2ncia tem propriedades perigosas n\u00e3o significa que ela n\u00e3o possa ser usada com seguran\u00e7a\u201d, continuou Schmider. \u201cCrit\u00e9rios de corte baseados em risco bruto ter\u00e3o um impacto negativo s\u00e9rio, n\u00e3o apenas na agricultura sustent\u00e1vel e na prote\u00e7\u00e3o ambiental, mas tamb\u00e9m aumentar\u00e3o os pre\u00e7os dos alimentos e diminuir\u00e3o a qualidade de vida na Europa. Al\u00e9m disso, os crit\u00e9rios de corte reduzir\u00e3o a biodiversidade, pois levar\u00e3o mais terras \u00e0 produ\u00e7\u00e3o para manter o suprimento de alimentos.<\/p>\n

\u201cSobre a Diretiva de Uso Sustent\u00e1vel\u201d, disse Schmider, \u201cfixar metas arbitr\u00e1rias de redu\u00e7\u00e3o de uso n\u00e3o funciona; como j\u00e1 visto na falha em atingir as metas de redu\u00e7\u00e3o de uso definidas na Dinamarca. O uso de pesticidas responde a necessidades reais e locais de controle de pragas, n\u00e3o a metas. Portanto, o caminho a seguir \u00e9 por meio da melhoria das pr\u00e1ticas.\u201d<\/p>\n

Schmider enfatizou que a ind\u00fastria de prote\u00e7\u00e3o de cultivos continuar\u00e1 trabalhando junto com o Parlamento e outras institui\u00e7\u00f5es da UE, bem como com a comunidade agr\u00edcola, com o objetivo de encontrar um resultado final para essas propostas legislativas que seja pr\u00e1tico, cient\u00edfico e mantenha solu\u00e7\u00f5es de prote\u00e7\u00e3o de plantas suficientes e seguras dispon\u00edveis para sustentar o suprimento de alimentos europeu.<\/p>\n
