Embora a nova legisla\u00e7\u00e3o tenha sido elaborada para que a Pol\u00f4nia se alinhasse com os regulamentos de biotecnologia da UE, a proibi\u00e7\u00e3o total de sementes biotecnol\u00f3gicas provavelmente ser\u00e1 considerada uma viola\u00e7\u00e3o dos regulamentos da UE. Um apelo p\u00fablico para derrotar a proibi\u00e7\u00e3o foi emitido por v\u00e1rios cientistas poloneses importantes e, segundo relatos, gerou preocupa\u00e7\u00e3o entre os membros do Sejm (C\u00e2mara baixa do Parlamento da Pol\u00f4nia), mas n\u00e3o o suficiente para impedir a aprova\u00e7\u00e3o da legisla\u00e7\u00e3o.
