中石化和诺维信建设中国生物燃料示范设施

BEIJING, China -– Bioinnovation firm 诺维信、农产品加工生产商和供应商 中粮集团,和 中石化, the world’s third-largest oil refinery, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that covers the next steps towards commercialization of cellulosic biofuel in China, according to a press release from Novozymes.

According to the agreement, COFCO and Sinopec will build a cellulosic ethanol demonstration plant that will produce three million gallons per year of bioethanol made from corn stover. Novozymes will supply enzymes for the new plant — including Cellic CTec2, an enzyme product launched by Novozymes in February that enables the biofuel industry to produce cellulosic ethanol at a price competitive with gasoline and conventional ethanol. The plant is expected to come online in the third quarter of 2011.

新工厂将成为中国最大的将农业废弃物转化为生物燃料的示范工厂。仅中国农业废弃物每年就超过7亿吨。
