A temporary ban on genetically modified corn has been lifted by Russia’s consumer-rights overseer, according to reports.
Russia’s Rospotrebnadzor consumer-rights agency suspended use of Monsanto’s imported GM NK603 corn last September after a French study suggested a link between Monsanto’s corn and cancer in rats. But the European Food Safety Agency later rejected the findings, saying there was no specific scientific evidence that the products were a health risk.
