SynTech Research Group Reinforces Pollinator Safety As Key Priority

On May 20, International Pollinator Day, SynTech研究组 highlights the vital role pollinators play in supporting biodiversity and ensuring global food security. The company also underscores a critical concern: plant protection products can pose potential risks to the health of honey bees and other essential pollinators.

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), around 75% of global food crops rely on pollination. One of the greatest threats these insects face is exposure to agrochemicals, hence ensuring the safety of pollinators in agricultural settings requires science-based decision-making.

SynTech Research is actively involved in developing and conducting laboratory testing to assess the risk of plant protection products on adult and larvae of various pollinators. This type of research plays a key role in promoting responsible agricultural practices and informing product regulations, helping to balance productivity with environmental protection.

“Protecting pollinators is not just a scientific obligation as it is a responsibility to future generations. At SynTech Research, we are dedicated ensure the development of safe, science-based solutions that support both agricultural productivity and environmental health,” said Eric Ythier, Global Lead for Product Safety at SynTech Research Group.

In addition to laboratory testing, SynTech Research carries out field and semi-field studies on pollinators in its many research stations around the world, including side effect testing and residue studies in pollen and nectar. The group also provides comprehensive study monitoring and regulatory risk assessment, offering scientific solutions that place sustainability at the forefront.
