But they are not new to climate challenges or mitigation strategies. The continent is the second largest single commercial market for regenerative practices and it’s expanding rapidly (3). Farmers have invested heavily in climate mitigation measures including cover crops, crop rotation and more resilient breeds, but these measures are struggling to withstand the extreme conditions. Cover crops and organic surface mulch are proven to reduce soil temperatures by only 2-7 degrees Celsius (4) and even heat tolerant plants experience severe cellular degradation when ambient temperatures surpass 40 degrees Celsius (5).<\/p>\n

Hot, dry weather in May and June struck wheat at flowering and grain fill last season: France’s soft wheat crop was forecast in July at 30.8 million tonnes, with yields 6.5% below the ten-year average, and Germany’s winter wheat harvest is estimated at 10.4% below 2025. Nitrogen, meanwhile, cost EU growers around 71% (6) more in April 2026 than the 2024 average, right in the middle of the spring top-dressing window.<\/p>\n

Driven by the impact of unpredictable weather and rising fertilizer costs, European farmers are now looking for new solutions that can help them face ‘new normal’ weather conditions. Arginine-based crop nutrition technology is being increasingly proven in trials to activate root zones and deliver stronger crops, healthier soils, and more sustainable harvests. As it is positively charged, it binds to the soil, activating stronger roots with longer hairs, greater surface area and deeper reach \u2013 while boosting overall soil health. It also helps reduce the use of mineral fertilizers, lowering these costs and helping to mitigate further climate impacts.<\/p>\n

2025\/26 \u5c0f\u9ea6\u5b63\u7684\u4e09\u9879\u7ed3\u679c<\/h2>\n

Arevo’s<\/a> \u65b0\u7684\u5c0f\u9ea6\u6570\u636e\u6765\u81ea\u4e00\u5bb6\u72ec\u7acb\u5408\u540c\u7814\u7a76\u673a\u6784\u5728\u6cd5\u56fd\u5317\u90e8\u3001\u5fb7\u56fd\u3001\u610f\u5927\u5229\u5317\u90e8\u548c\u6ce2\u5170\u7684\u4e03\u4e2a\u5730\u70b9\u8fdb\u884c\u7684\u91cd\u590d\u7530\u95f4\u8bd5\u9a8c\uff1a\u5171340\u4e2a\u8bd5\u9a8c\u5c0f\u533a\uff0c\u6bcf\u4e2a\u5730\u70b9\u6d4b\u8bd5\u4e94\u79cd\u65bd\u80a5\u91cf\uff08\u6709\/\u65e0\uff09\u3002 \u7cbe\u6c28\u9178 <\/a>\u5728\u897f\u6b27\u5404\u5730\u56e0\u9ad8\u6e29\u548c\u5e72\u65f1\u800c\u5bfc\u81f4\u4f5c\u7269\u6b49\u6536\u7684\u5b63\u8282\uff0c\u79cd\u5b50\u5305\u8863\u6280\u672f\u5f97\u5230\u4e86\u5e94\u7528\u3002.<\/p>\n

As well as the trial data, farmers working with Arginex outside the replicated trials reported visible differences at harvest. A Danish grower in the 2026 wheat trials said: “We could see a visible physical difference in stem and straw quality when the wheat was harvested.”<\/p>\n

“Growers are looking for more than a higher yield. What they want is to hold their yield year after year, even when the unpredictable hits, such as the weather,” said Dr. Georgios Foufas, CEO of Arevo. “Arginex-treated seed has shown a clear pattern. Plot-to-plot variation in yield was 20% lower where the seed was coated with Arginex than where it was not. And because the crop establishes faster, it gets extra days in autumn to build the roots and tillers it will carry through winter and turn into grain the following summer.”<\/p>\n

“Farming is unpredictable. Arginex is not,” Dr Foufas continued. “A wheat grower commits to a crop in October and finds out how it went the following July. The frost, the drought and a fertilizer price that moves by the week are all out of their hands. What goes on the seed shouldn’t be. Arginex is a single, non-living molecule, identical in every batch. In its first wheat season it added yield at every one of the seven sites, held the crop steadier through the conditions growers can’t control, and did it without trading away protein.”<\/p>\n
