Pesticide Wareshouse Fire In Belgrade Injurs 29
A fire at a pesticide wareshouse in a suburb of Belgrade, Serbia led to the hospitalization of 29 people. Police had given no explanation for the blast at the Galenika pharmaceutical factory at presstime. The warehouse is part of the factory complex.
Firefighters managed to put out the fire in few hours, but not without cost: 20 of those hospitalized by the fire were firefighters, and another two were policemen. The seven remaining worked at the factory. Most are expected to be released from the hospital soon.
Authorities advised citizens living in the area to stay indoors because a toxic cloud formed following the blast.
