India To Develop Cooperatives

The government of India is funding a program to develop the country’s network of farming cooperatives, according to the US Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agriculture Service (USDA-FAS). The cooperatives will be aided to improve the marketing and distribution of seed, fertilizer, and agrochemicals. The US $500 million fund was cleared for the National Co-operative Development Corporation to disperse during this financial year.
