BASF, Embrapa Team Up On Soy Development

The partnership will allow Embrapa access to BASF enzymes to create the new varieties. BASF sells imazapyr-based products in the US under the brands Arsenal, Sahara, and Stalker.

To date, only Monsanto’s Roundup Ready (RR) transgenic soybean variety is permitted for sale in Brazil. Embrapa is licensed to make its own varieties of RR soy.
