Bayer Fungicide Registrations Pile Up

One of Bayer’s newest ais, fluopicolide uses a novel mode of action for long-lasting disease control with minimal environmental and residue impacts. Sold in products under the brand names Infinito (fluopicolide + propamocarb HCl), Reliable, Trivia, and Profiler (fluopicolide + fosetly-Al), the ai is being positioned by the company as “the first choice in integrated crop management in potatoes,” according to a Bayer release. The product controls such diseases as late blight and tuber blight in potatoes, as well as common grape mildew in grapes, and others.

As Infinito, the ai was launched last year in China, Korea, and the UK; this year, approvals are expected in Germany, Poland, Colombia, and Indonesia. Bayer also sees further worldwide expansion in 2008.
