Dicamba: Monsanto Moves to Stop Arkansas Ban

Nufarm will acquire FMC’s SU-class herbicides and Florasulam.

Changes will prohibit dicamba use in Arkansas between April 16 and Oct. 31.

In just one month, the price of glyphosate technical shot up from $3,614/MT to $4,066/MT, while glufosinate-ammonium increased from $24,849/MT to $26,355-27,108U/MT, according to China-based firm Siembo Consulting Co. Ltd.

The Commission is expected to set a new date for a vote during the first half of November.

Monsanto is challenging the restrictions as Arkansas edges closer to adopting a temporary ban on dicamba herbicides for next year.

SHIELDEX 400SC controls a wide range of broadleaf and grass weeds, including troublesome weeds such as tall waterhemp, Palmer amaranth, giant ragweed and giant foxtail.

The assets to be acquired include Bayer’s global glufosinate-ammonium non-selective herbicide business, commercialized under the Liberty, Basta and Finale brands, and seed businesses for key row crops in select markets.

Updates include mandatory training, new record keeping requirements, and a Restricted Use Pesticide (RUP) designation.
