CropChem Unveils Brazil’s First Dual-Action Acaricide-Insecticide

Introducing an unprecedented mixture to the Brazilian market, CropChem has launched Perseus Duo, an acaricide and insecticide that combines Spirodiclofen (400 g a.i./L) and Abamectin (70 g a.i./L). With this innovation, farmers now have access to a strategic tool for mite control in citrus and coffee crops.

Perseus Duo is the first registered formulation in Brazil that blends Spirodiclofen with another active ingredient. By adding Abamectin, CropChem delivers a dual-mode-of-action solution for managing mites. “The product combines the chemical groups avermectins and ketoenols — two excellent tools for controlling the red mite (Oligonychus ilicis),” explains Otávio Escobar, CropChem’s Research and Development Manager. This pest has high economic impact in coffee plantations, directly affecting photosynthesis. Another key target is the false rust mite (Phyllocoptruta oleivora), which, according to Fundecitrus, can cause fruit drop rates ranging from 5% to 20% . “We’re introducing a product that will surely become an important chemical control tool for Brazilian growers,” adds Escobar.

In addition to Perseus Duo, CropChem is also launching Avner 500 SC, an insecticide and acaricide based on Diafenthiuron. With both contact and ingestion activity, it offers effective control against mites and silverleaf whitefly (Bemisia tabaci, B biotype). The product is registered for use in cotton, coffee, beans, soybean, and tomato crops.

“These two new products expand CropChem’s acaricide portfolio, which already includes Abadin 72 EC (Abamectin), Bitrin 100 EC (Bifenthrin), Trigger Max (Chlorfenapyr), and Percy Duo (Profenofos + Cypermethrin).
