Vertellus Specialties Acquires MGK Insect Repellent

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, US — Specialty Chemicals company Vertellus Specialties Inc. has acquired certain assets of the McLaughlin Gormley King Company’s (MGK) insect repellent business, according to a press release. Among the assets in the acquisition are several MGK insect repellent products, including DEET and associated end-use formulations, product registrations, and customer lists. The acquisition does not include any physical facility assets or personnel.

Vertellus manufactures DEET at their facility in Greensboro, North Carolina, US. The company states that following the transaction, it will be well-suited to help EU customers who face DEET-related regulatory challenges.
