Syngenta Acquires Full Control Of GreenLeaf Genetics
Syngenta and DuPont announced that Syngenta has assumed full ownership of GreenLeaf Genetics LLC, according to the companies.
Syngenta formed GreenLeaf Genetics LLC in 2004, but it wasn’t until 2006 that it became a joint venture with DuPont business Pioneer Hi-Bred. The agreement will allow Syngenta and Pioneer to pursue independent licensing strategies for their respective proprietary corn and soybean genetics and biotechnology traits, according to the companies.
“Pioneer has valued the GreenLeaf Genetics joint venture for more than four years,” Pioneer President Paul E. Schickler said in a prepared statement. “GreenLeaf Genetics will continue to fulfill an important role in the seed industry by offering farmers choices in new and unique selection of corn and soybean products.”
