Top 30 Formulators in China by Sales

Total sales of the largest 30 formulators in China soared to a record 14.013 billion yuan ($2.26 billion), up 13.4% from 2014, according to statistics from the China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA), which released its ranking of the top 30 pesticide formulators according to sales.

Among the top 30 of more than 1,000 companies that CCPIA ranked by sales, Noposion again ranked first with sales of 2.203 billion yuan ($355.32 million). This is the fourth time that Noposion ranked first. Rotam and Guangxi Tianyuan ranked second and third, respectively, with 1.388 billion yuan ($223.87 million) and 1.069 billion yuan ($172.42 million).

The average sales of the top 30 formulators has risen to 185 million yuan ($29.8 million), an increase of 27% from 2014. There are four companies that had sales exceeding one billion yuan, CCPIA said. The third and the fourth, Guangxi Tianyuan Biochemicals Co., Ltd. and Syngenta (Suzhou) Crop Protection Co., Ltd., switched their ranking order from last year, but there was no remarkable difference between their sales.

“Compared with the top 100 companies, the sales of the top 30 formulators have risen more dramatically, which testifies the fact that the scale of China’s preparation industry has been increasingly enhanced, companies have changed their role from TC suppliers to brand builders and the effect of the industrial structure adjustment has become increasingly remarkable,” CCPIA said.
