Marrone Bio Innovations Receives Innovation Award

Marrone Bio Innovations (MBI), a provider of effective and environmentally friendly biopesticides, is among 14 companies honored as “Game Changers of the Year” for their innovation, according to a press release.

MBI and others were recognized for their innovations using technology, raising capital, teaching and community work. The awards were announced by Grow California, a Chico based firm headed by Jon Gregory and a spin-off of Golden Capital Network of Chico, according to the release.

The 14 winning companies were chosen from 300 nominations, submitted by dozens of California-based professional services firms, suppliers, investors, banks, academia and trade organizations. The criteria included identifying ag companies that are distinguished from others because of their focus on innovation and contributions to California’s economic growth, according to the release.
