ADAMA lanza el fungicida botánico Actavan en Australia y Nueva Zelanda.

ADAMA Ltd., a leading global crop protection company, announced the launch of Actavan® in Australia and New Zealand, a plant-based fungicide for grapes. By activating the plant’s natural defense mechanisms, it helps growers protect crops against Botrytis. With zero residue and no pre-harvest interval, Actavan® offers greater flexibility to protect fruit quality through harvest and post-harvest storage.

Based on beet extract, Actavan® is a Systemic Acquired Resistance (SAR) elicitor that stimulates the plant’s immune response before infection occurs. Natural, fully biodegradable, non-toxic and compatible with integrated pest management (IPM) programs, it provides growers with an effective botanical option for disease management.

Actavan® activates genes involved in the production of enzymes that degrade pathogen cell walls while stimulating antimicrobial phytoalexins. This systemic defense response helps crops resist fungal diseases and complements existing fungicide programs.

The product recently received a new classification from the Fungicide Resistance Action Committee (FRAC) in P Group 11, recognizing its distinct mode of action and providing growers with an additional tool for resistance-management strategies.

“Growers are increasingly looking for solutions that combine strong performance with flexibility and sustainability,” said Jean Zonato, Head of Global Fungicides at ADAMA. “Actavan® expands the options available for disease management by introducing a plant-derived mode of action that can be integrated into existing programs while helping growers meet evolving market and production requirements.”
