UE: Synthos Agro lanza un nuevo fungicida con tecnología liposomal

Lipostar, the world’s first fungicide based on a proliposomal matrix, has been created by Synthos Agro in collaboration with SyVento (a research and development company from the MS Galleon Group) combines safety with efficiency, and sets market trends.

Synthos Agro, as the first manufacturer in Poland and worldwide, has registered a ground-breaking plant protection product: Lipostar 090 EC, based on patented liposomal technology. Designed for both preventative and curative use, it acts as an antidote to diseases caused by pathogenic fungi. This innovative product is a breakthrough in terms of formulation technology as well as in the selective and safe delivery of the active substance. The advantage of this pioneering solution over conventional products lies in its effective application of a lower dose of difenoconazole – by up to 40% per hectare compared to the reference products tested – and represents a significant contribution by Synthos AGRO to the development of sustainable food systems.

The technology of the future in practice

Lipostar 090 EC is a product in the form of a concentrate for preparing a water-based emulsion, containing 90 g/l of difenoconazole. The key component of the formulation is a proliposomal matrix which, when mixed with water, forms active liposomes – nanoscale carriers that allow for rapid and effective penetration of the active substance into plant cells. Difenoconazole inhibits the formation of the cell wall in pathogens, reducing the growth and development of fungal mycelium as well as the germination of spores. This technology not only increases the bioavailability of the active substance but also enables a significant reduction in its dosage while maintaining high effectiveness. Lipostar 090 EC can be used both in large-scale crops such as winter oilseed rape, winter wheat, and winter triticale, as well as in small-scale crops including spring oilseed rape, camelina, flax, opium poppy, mustard greens, white and black mustard, sunflower, and soybean.

Field trials conducted in 2022-2024 demonstrated that using this product at the recommended dose made it possible to significantly reduce the amount of active substance while simultaneously increasing yields by between 0.5 and 0.9 t/ha, depending on the crop. Moreover, the product does not require a withdrawal period and can be safely used in crops intended for animal feed.

Sustainable development embedded in a modern formulation

Due to EU regulations, an increasing number of active substances used in agriculture are subject to restrictions on the conditions of use of plant protection products, driven in part by the risks they pose to non-target organisms.
