Nigeria compra 25.000 toneladas de cereales

AllAfrica.com reports that Nigeria’s Yobe State Government has purchased 25,000 tonnes of assorted grain for storage in its strategic grains
reserva. Alhaji Musa Dumburi, el comisionado de Agricultura, dijo que el gobierno había tomado las disposiciones necesarias para almacenar silos en todo el estado.

In addition to the grains — consisting of maize, millet and sorghum — Dumburi said government also had provided farm inputs at subsidized rates to farmers, to encourage them in producing high yields. “Tractors, improved seedlings, herbicides and chemicals and assorted fertilizer have also been made available  to farmers across the state,” he added. Correspondents report that prices of grains have remained stable in markets across the state, compared to what obtained during the same period last year.
