Agroquimica de Jacona: Here To Help

When Gildardo Arroyo Maldonado opened Agroquimica de Jacona, he built the facility outside the city. The city had other plans, however, and grew up around the retailer. Now Arroyo is planning to build a second facility again outside of city limits to protect the town. The company meets — and exceeds — standard regulations for a chemical facility in Mexico, ensuring that product is secured and local law enforcement is familiar with the warehouse and its safety measures.

The retailer, which serves almost 350,000 hectares of specialty crops like tomatoes, berries, avocados, and broccoli in central Mexico, offers testing services for soil, water, and plant nutrition. It also provides excellent technical support based on quality products, says Arroyo. The company only carries branded, original products.

“Commitment to society and betterment for us is very important,” says Arroyo’s son and colleague, Luis Arroyo Valdes. “We want to operate responsibly, and only have the best products, like DuPont products, and always respect the environment.”

Agroquimica de Jacona does its best to maintain its goal of environmental stewardship, protecting its chemicals with a security system that allows the Arroyos to view the feed from security cameras over the internet. The company also prevents potential misuse of these products by educated local growers on the proper use of the chemicals.
