India Bans Wheat Exports To Stem Inflation

Indian officials met to enact measures in an effort to damper food inflation, according to a story in the Business Standard.

Food prices have risen nearly 18.3% and are currently at a one-year high. Food inflation continues to increase as India deals with the recent ban of Pakistan onion exports and rising global commodity prices.

Indian’s food inflation is the highest of all Asian economies, according to the article.
