Syngenta Increases UK Investment

Syngenta has announced that it will increase investment in UK manufacturing and research and development by more than US $200 million. The investments are part of a global expansion – around $150 million of which will go into existing production sites in Grangemouth, Scotland and Huddersfield, UK.

The remaining funds will be invested in research and development at Jealott’s Hill in Berkshire, which will focus on the development of new herbicides, new formulations, and product safety.

Mark Peacock, head of global operations at Syngenta, said: "[The investment] will enable Syngenta and the UK to play a leading role in providing growers around the world with the tools they need to protect and improve yield.”
