Kleffmann’s analysis is based on data collected from farmer surveys, interviews with distributors in emerging markets, proprietary market trend studies, subject matter experts and open source information, explained Kleffmann Team Leader Dr. Bob Fairclough.

China, for example, “has been undervalued for years” and could rival the United States and Brazil for the world’s largest crop protection market. “We are aware that our assessment differs significantly from estimations coming from other sources in the market,” says Kleffmann CEO Burkhard Kleffmann. “However, we are convinced that the global market for crop protection products is considerably higher than the previously released figures. Our evaluation is based on multi-country statistically robust farmer-based data from over 70 countries, many of them emerging markets like China, Brazil and India.”
